I thought this might be a decent subject for a thread seeing as how many people come to this site with the negative light about the dogs their owers, and their owners professions...most seem to think this is a breed where the owners are poor hicks or ghetto drug dealers with little to no education, and this is not the truth at least in my experience this is not the case so I thought it would be a good idea for a thread if everyone shared what they do for a living, and what education they have, and how long they have been doing their profession for. OK everyone go for it

Me I am a welder have been for 4 years also have plenty of experience in construction, structural fitting of all sorts. Welding is my main trade and by far my favorite. I work for a very strong and growing company in South Dakota.

 

I work at a liquor store and im going to school to make wine. It was the closest i could get to turning my hobbies legit

 

i install garage doors been doing it for 8 years.

 

I know of a member on here that has a few dogs that's a kindergarten teacher i believe!

I'm just an average Joe I guess. I don't really have a trade per se. I was trained in law enforcement & security, but don't practice it any longer due to my seizure disorder. The jobs I held were as a Federal police officer in the USAF (SP) & after I got out I held various security jobs, one working for Weyerhauser, another for the public school system. I currently work as a receptionist at an automotive repair shop. High school grad & earned some community college credits while I was in the USAF. I don't live in a fancy house & I don't live in a good neighborhood. I gave that up for my dogs.

I'm going to school for my bachelor's in culinary management. At this point I work as a lab tech in the petrol products industry.

 

I'm a Veterinary Technician and a Short-Sale Negotiator for a law firm.

I work at two hospitals for the operating room for the last 12 years, one trauma center and one childrens hospital, I also went to a little bit of school after high school (actually, I was 1 semester away from my associates degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design, when I decided to move back to my home town, I also went to school for 18 months and graduated with honors to be a Vet Tech but theres more money in the human field so that was the way I went.

In the medical field testing/treating for sleep disorders. I am also an EMT-P but domnt utilyze those skills anymore...

 

I roofed all my life till i cut off three fingers saved two and lost one now i go to school for Athletic Training and have three yrs to go and still roof for money.

 

Boy, some of you guys have some fabulous jobs! In ways I wish I could have a better job. LE/Security is my thing, but once they find out you have something like a seizure disorder, they don't want you. Sooo, I got hired on where I work now. It's not glamorous & it doesn't pay a lot, but they're very understanding about my condition & I get to take my puppies to work.

 

High School Grad, and for past 5 years been working at a soy bean processing plant. Most people are surprised when then they find out what all contains soy products...

 

i've been doing insulation on and off since i was 18 and when i was off i went to school and got a certification in heavy equipment(had 1 job doing this but didn't like it). then the jobs in my field went scarce, so I then received a job erecting and tearing down scaffolds, in which i did until some shutdowns came my way in my field of expertise and now i'm on vacation.

 

I might fit more in the poor hick category but I am what I am.Lived and worked on a dairy/beef cattle farm all my life,got kicked out of school in the 10th grade,got my G.E.D. 6 months later.Also scored in the top 2% in the state of Missouri on my school test scores though so brains wasn't my problem,just had a little problem with following the rules,LOL.Can't say I have a great job or make a lot of money but I do what I want to do for the most part.I work on a farm,got a nice family,a few dogs,some cattle and no real boss or 9-5 job to answer to everyday.Happiness means more to me than money.Some people might think it's pretty lame but it's what I like.

 

Ex drug dealer who now works with kids to keep them off the streets. In the process of opening a clothing store. Trying to start a youth basketball league soon,also... I guess I'm also one of the ones talked about in post #1

 

Was in retail and restaurant management for 25 years then had a decline in health. Now I help a friend with her cleaning business and sell Scentsy products. Going to school and still donate time to the local shelter here. Just get to spend more time with the animals now.

 

I'm a Dog Groomer.....LOL...been doing for about 3 years now, not the best money but working with animals is great....currently I'm joining the NAVY...rather do that, then groom dogs all my life.
