Don’t push that pup at all. Treat it like what it is, a pup. Don’t expect anything from it. Let it mature and give it the best chance possible. How exactly is it bred if you don’t mind me asking?

Exactly let him mature out. In fact don’t do anything with him until you have a honest mentor to school you. To many dumbasses get a Bulldog not knowing how they tick. Very few true stand up gentlemen Dogmen out there. Beware of the lowlifes and the gangbangers they have done more harm to this great breed then I care to think about. Just build his trust in you and become best friends they know if your an ass or a man.....

All good information....but 1 key point was forgotten...don't trust many people that are so called your friends...this is a cruel and heartless sport ..so be careful trusting folks comes back to bite you in the long run...loyalty in this sport is hard to come by...good luck with ya pup wish y'all all the success your bond now is crucial to your future success

I would always tell folks learn about animal husbandry, nutrition, biology and first aid before putting the cart before the horse. Before one can get the most out of their dogs you got to have the basics down. The depth of a man's knowledge will show through the dogs.....

Mother 25% mastiff 76%apbt and father 100% apbt. I saw his yard he told me how but I'm just getting started an didn't get it all.

Why would you feed a mixed up dog instead of a pure Bulldog, just curious

He explained his reasoning for using the mix (Height, and that was his outcross) and I didn't see the problem

Most important time to get it all is when your starting out. Has huge implications later

Did you plan on getting an APBT ? why did you take a cross breed ? your dog will make a good pet or guard dog , but its not an APBT ,

So, here’s the thing. In regards to you asking “how to push your pup to be better” I hope you fully understood when taking delivery of that pup that you were not getting an APBT. If you did, then you should know that dog will not be your typical APBT nor should you ever expect it to be nor “push” it to be. Also, to be quite honest, there’s no way of telling if that dog is truly 75%RBJ. I would personally be worried about the dogs temperament as you could have a real mess on your hands. If you went into this knowing you weren’t getting an APBT then I see no problems with it and think you should enjoy the pup for what it is but do not expect it to be a bulldog.

    Do you have a ped?

I don't know a lot like most of the people that posted in this thread, but I do know that I would be a bit worried about the dog's temperament too. You are not getting a purebred american pit bull terrier. You are getting a mix of different genetics (and you don't know if these genetics are wired correctly with the dogs that were bred). You cannot expect this dog to have 100% genetics and temperament of an american pit bull terrier. It's not happening.

Enjoy the dog raise it good and never bred it to another APBT. If you want to start out for real buy yourself some wellbred pure bulldogs from a good breeder.Best of Luck.

If you wanted a guardian breed, the american pit bull is not it. The Mastiff is.
