Guys until how far down the ped will you see same qualities in new offspring. Añd how ĺong does it have to be before traits dont show up in new Offspring. Like After 5 generation or 6. At one one time i think the Amstaff was a working breed then they made it more of show dog. Was wondering how long that takes even though some tendencies might still exist.

The very first generation if the selection process is not correct.

When you are breeding two dogs you are also breeding the entire family together, all the aunts/uncles. brothers/sisters, grandparents, etc.

If you breed two freaks that were from so-so-ers then odds are you will get so-so-ers again. Now if you breed two freaks from a family of freaks then the odds are you get some freaks.

In most of the pedigrees posted the fourth-fifth and sixth generation play little part in the dog on the far left hand side. It has little to do with the dogs but more so to do with the dogs chosen. Once multiple people are breeding a family the strains change. If I bred straight Red Boy dogs for 6-8-10 generations then they would all be really similar with similar traits because I was the person making the selection. If another started off with the same Red Boy dogs the end result would be different because of the selection process.

Most pedigrees are full of multiple families, multiple strains from the same families and more importantly multiple breeders who select for different reasons.

Then the X factor can be dogs that are superiorly prepotent. Buck for example, still today, with all the strains and all the breeders, you can spot a Buck dog from a mile away. The traits and styles my vary but they retain a lot of Buck's outward appearance. It is not an absolute, but Buck dogs look like Buck dogs a high percentage of the time. Even crossed in a lot strains.

Then there is Red Boy. Red Boy comes in all shapes, sizes, colors and structures.

So short story long.......every breeding should make the dogs better. The better dogs should be reproduced. In concept, the dogs should be better today than they were yesterday. Across the board. They are not. They are the same. Because the selection process is not 'true to the breed' for everyone on an absolute level.

If one line of your family was from a peddler, selling pretty papers, sub par dogs with great war stories, Murphy's Law says that is what will pop up.

The object is to identify the go-getters and breed go-getters to get more go-getters.

An older fellow once told me it only takes a 1/2 of a spoonful of chicken shit to ruin a huge bowl of chicken salad.

Slim it don't take a 1/2 teaspoon. A drop and most who know won't touch that shit. Most people i know won't eat chicken potato tuna salad if they don't know who made it. Gotta have the same type mindset with the hounds. Although we all gotta start somewhere

No one will be able to answer that question from a picture of a puppy. When It grows up, school it and find out...

Thanks man that's me. Shaolin. Thats my other hobby Martial arts. So dont be nice let me know honestly. I know its all the individual. I just want to know if this is Freaky Deeky or Freaky Geeky family or just couple Freaks. I know Bailey was a good producer but is he a little to far back. Listen i wanted in order Sound Temperament Gamebred Freaky and then what ever. What i should say is Gamebred first and it should automatically cover Sound temperament but there is another forum on here going on about how this can be excused if he is a Ace or close. I dont want to to get into a Topic on MANEATERS because it will never end. I don't think they have no place with the breed. CULL them thats me. I have heard of tons of stable mind Game dogs. And hopefully i got one

No problem, just being honest with you. It's a well bred pup and you'll more than likely get just what you expect from it. It's all a gamble though when it comes to a pup. I've seen ones that crank up at 6 to 8 weeks old and ones that didn't until they were 3 or 4 years old. Have seen a few that wouldn't start up at all and seen plenty that were just flat out plugs when they grew up. Its a roll of the dice buddy. Wish you the best of luck.

Funny you mentioned that. As I was writing my response to Jacob, it actually included that phrase towards the end. It's one of my favorite sayings in regard to the dogs. I ended up erasing it though before I hit the post reply button and changed my ending to that post to what it currently reads... Great saying and oh so true.

Definitely heard before statement. I just got this guy on the ped. But to be honest i cant fish any info out out on dogs bred like or same. I see Boomer And Deacon but not much on Bailey. I know it's a waiting thing but this part of fun i guess

That’s why you talk to the breeder, ppl who have stuff bred like that, or take the gamble and bite the mystery pedigree bullet. Big names don’t count unless they are the parents or grandparents. Try whatever blood you like from different sources. Keep what you like, get rid of the rest. Don’t paint yourself in a corner by just buying from so and so. Personally, I wouldn't go to TG for Frisco dogs. I’m sure I can get good dogs with the traits I want cheaper than Tom has them. Honestly most ppl don’t need the world beater they seek, just a local area beater

Hell yeah lm all about local. You hit that one good. Hey C note your saying i got that dog of Garner right. Cause I wouldn't do that either. I paid okay like 600 US. I know you have good local down there but sometimes the locals only like dealing with the other locals so for guy like me thats best i could do from my end. Actually not true could have gone Imporious kennels. For me i think this will do. Fingers crossed.
