Yesterday I got the most disturbing text message a parent ever wants to recieve from your child. "We just went into a hard lock down, someone's shooting up the hallway outside the classroom". Around 9:30 am EST. 8 shots rang out in Erie High from a kid with a 9mm handgun in my daughters school yesterday morning. 90 seconds later the entire EPD; swat, state and local officials swarmened onto Eries only and extremely over crowded public high school. Breaks my heart these kids can't even get through a single year of school here without some horrible act shutting the school down. Teachers are refusing to go back this time, as they should. Like most hardcore democratic cities, this place is a shit hole riddled with high crime, no real paying jobs and a city that just doesn't really give 2 fucks about the safety of our kids at all. We paid for metal detectors a few years back yet no one is answering why they aren't being used. People retarded AF around here.
Banks and government buildings have armed guards in them to protect what's in them yet this country's most valuable assets are left totally defenses in this problem of kids shooting kids in this country. Safe to say we have totally let down our children in the American School System as well as the inner cities youth. These lil mfer's is gone and they aint coming back. What do we expect after 2 generations of kids having kids and the parents letting the streets and the internet raise them babies.... I'm throughly disgusted over this non sense. This isn't our first time making national news for a school shooting either. Seems to fall on deaf ears though.....

I just have to get her through 1 more year. The worst part is, she could graduate this year since she has all her credits needed already but she's hard headed and wants to walk with her class. SMH, told her fuck those kids get out of there and move on. She's dead set on her plans though and doesn't change her mind very often once she sets it on something.

We don't call it Erie Pistolvania here for nothing. A child will end your life around here and it happens so often anymore we barely even raise an eyebrow to it. Times sure are different anymore.

And before any anti gun folks jump on this I'll say this, guns are not this countries problem here, a lack of parenting for one reason or another is to blame. The schools job is not to instill morals, ethics and values into our kids. That is the parents job to do.

The pictures were taken literally less than 16 hours before the school shooting happened. I took my darling out on a daddy daughter date monday evening at the range. My daughter has been around guns her whole life as have most of her friends. These ain't the kids we are worried about shooting up the place.

    Their parents did their job...

A gun is not the problem. Instilling morals and value of life in your kids is........

Thoughts and prayers to you and yours.

I got that call when my son was in elementary school. "Man with a shotgun" turned out to be a guy whose dogs crossed the road and he was trying to catch them before they got to the interstate. He didn't think about walking onto school grounds with a shotgun. (and he admitted it and was pleading guilty and apologizing on the scene)

Not the same, but the call had the same effect.

I am not a big gun guy myself but it kills me when people can find blame in an inanimate object.

The biggest issue with the lack of parenting, babies having babies, is that the best excuse is to always blame someone else or something else. When there is no accountability instilling morals and ethics is nothing more than a pipe dream.

It is not just there but just about everywhere.

    Again, thoughts and prayers.

( I had one of those hardheaded kids too. Once he had his mind made up it was going to happen, be it a good decision or a bad decision.) Mine bull-headed his was to a good spot for a young 25 year old. I will venture a guess some of that is instilled in our kids as a lot of times the apple does not fall far from the tree.

But again, hopefully she can walk next year without further stupid shit happening in her school.

They'll most likely go to virtual learning the rest of the year while the school district fumbles around chasing it's tail trying to figure out how to solve a problem that other than putting in metal detectors and going back to a police presence in the school. That might deter a little bit but doesn't solve the problem that stems from the home environment or lack there of. That in itself is a complex issue all on it's own.
Crazy, All 3 of these kids involved in this particular incident are relatives which is even more sad.

Is your daughter ok? Here in New York City, you cannot even walk around anymore. Unhinged crazy lunatics are walking around and they are either stabbing someone or shooting someone. I had to have one of the K-9 dogs walk me to my building yesterday because there was a woman who was out of her fucking mind.
And, I believe guns are NOT the problem. It's the lunatics that are getting their hands on the guns that is the problem.

For far too many the public school system is 8+ hours of free day care.

The teachers, who are grossly underpaid for their contribution to society, are fully expected to raise other people's children. I would hate to inherit 30 new kids every morning at 8AM and again every hour or so when they change classes.

I feel like I would be that guy choke slamming some 14 year old and becoming the sorriest bastard on the planet when the video aired. I coached youth sports for a number of years and I had playing time to hang over their head for attitudes and if they tried the smart-ass mouth approach. Teachers do not have that.

Most of these kids think they can hit X on the controller and start the game over. Life simply does not work that way.

Michele get yourself a can of bear spray good up to 15 ft away. Pepper spray is classified as an inflammatory agent and will immediately incapacitate an assailant.

Sad to hear. Yet the world is concerned about Pete Davidson and Kim K....

Hope the keystone kitten is ok and is able to process the event without too much trouble. Fucking sad to have to wish a teenager to do so.

The issues do start at home. On all sides. It's super easy to point a finger and damn the shooter but in this day and age when music, television, social media all promote murder and bullying with no recourse what can we really expect? It's perfectly OK for kids to be victimized at school in so many ways it wasn't before.

It is 100% not the guns. Look at the uk. They have had gun bans for decades and now they can't figure out why knife violence is out of control. Evil will prevail no matter what stipulations are put in place to make law abiding citizens jump through hoops to own guns. They take guns and knives off the table sticks and rocks will be the weapon of choice.

    Well said.

The root causes are sometimes plentiful and the Pete Davidson/Kim Kardashian comment is spot on, as we care more about shit that is other people's business than we do taking care of our own (in general/as a society)

And gun bans (or dog bans) do nothing but get some politician more airtime. There are no real effects. Chi-town has some of the toughest gun laws in the country but there are so many shootings/killings there someone built a website call the 'weekend purge'. New, more strict gun laws only work on the people who were following the old gun laws.

And on a lighter note.....at least the Pete Davidson guy gives guys hope. I mean that is one ugly mofo. If he has pulled Kim K. means guys like me have a chance. LOL

Hope all is well for your daughter and the other students at her school. It is always a conversation that should not be had.

That's too bad NY can't change it's way when it comes to it's gun laws. All them restrictions and it hasn't done anything to curb any kind of violence there. Much like Chi-raq. A woman with a .380 in her purse just leveled the playing field when it comes to being assaulted.

Thanks yall for the concern of my daughters well being. One day she may read all of this and it'll surely warm her heart. She is doing OK as far as processing the situation. These kids are pretty resilient. She knows there are people available to her if she needs to talk or whatever. All in all, she just acting like it's just another day here.

Personally, I feel you can never really have enough. I bought myself a new squirrel gun the other day.... :))

I can remember as a kid in high-school in the 90's only thing on my mind was girls, sports, getting my license in order to get more of both. Sure we beefed and would fight just because it rains outside. I can't say I knew of anyone who parents went divorced or had both in same house. Now I feel like the old man who has no idea wtf is wrong with these kids. Half of them gay the other half just plain crazy. Glad I came up in the 80/90's
