U don't give out the recipes to the award winning cake. Have u ever considered that maybe the 2 dogs believed to be the sire and dam weren't. Maybe it was 2 other dogs. Maybe he was a freak that never happend again. It does happen. In the game as it was with the money at stake a good recipes was closely guarded. Heck even colonel sanders knew to keep the recipes in the safe.

Fried Chicken aint Game, Shot. There is more than enough proof that Floyd did not have anything that looked like Eli prior to cry baby coming to his yard. Plus, Don Mayfield and Floyd B. were REALLY close before the whole crybaby thing went down. Why didn't Floyd let Don in on the secret miracle dog? I will tell you why. Because the miracle dog was Don Mayfield's dog. Sonny Sykes and many others spoke on it.

The Eli Line does not exist.......It is the Mayfield Eli Line.

 

Unless you were there how would you know? And why would we call it the mayfield line? Because he may have owned the dog that produced Eli? Did he breed him and produce Eli jr and Bullyson? If a person wants to subscribe to the belief that Eli was out of CryBaby that's fine that's a personal opinion that all are entitled to. But to try and say that DM is responsible for that family of dogs just because you think that Eli came from a litter that you believe belonged to DM is idiotic. That's a slap in the face to many more people that worked with this line not only FB. If you want to give credit that way then we would just have to go back and find the first man that imported a dog and give him all the credit for all the great families we have these days.

The facts don't support that he lied. FB had a pregnant cry baby. FB didn't have any dogs that looked like Eli prior to having Crybaby. Too many Dogmen that were close to FB all say the same. Every Dogman knows how their foundation dogs are bred. Apparently, FB forgot......Many Times.

 

Mayfield's Nigger ,,,looks nothing like Jeff, Dibo or Spike,,, ,,, and the modern chocolate Mayfield dogs look nothing like Nigger ,,,or anything like spike /jeff..or Dibo

My point is your trying to give credit to DM because you think he was responsible for one breeding, if that's the case then you've gotta give the credit to the people who bred the dogs he used.

I have read for years where Don claimed Eli was 1/4 Lab then claimed it had to be off Cry Baby though Eli was born many years later. Then I heard and read where Don claimed Eli had to be for his stock from Tudor stock of his because of the Henry dogs. Meaning because they were black. Now at first you might want to believe the last one because of Don's claims of Henry dogs BUTTTTTTTTTT when you do research back into the early 1900's you will find a whole of people were breeding and selling pups which were black and not from Henry dogs! So that story is BS. As for the Lab lol lol I'll take a whole yard of them! Also Don claimed every good dog came from him. Why didn't he repeat Cry Baby breeding for himself? He lost many times to the stock off Eli so if you can't beat them, join them. If I only had one champion in all those years I would have re-think my breeding and maybe go in another direction or add Cry Baby stock. lol

 

Lets see now, Bob Wallace, Floyd Boudreaux and Lester Hughes aka Mountain Man told me directly, in person, Zebo was off Eli and who stole him. Oh back years ago Don talked bad about Maurice after he died in SDJ. Well I guess Don forgot Pat Carver was still alive address Don's BS in SDJ. Bobby got tried of it too as many others and climb on to Don's ass WHEN DON still had dogs! So Floyd wasn't the only one Don bashed. The thing about Pat was Don always down played Tombstone but yet Pat and Leo Lewis bought Snake and he cold cur quit of them and all Don did was make excuses. The story Pat about the bottle of rub which was used on Benny Bob, true story whether people want to believe it or not. There are many still alive and some who was at that match. As for Art producing, DNA both Art's stock and directly off Tadpole. Believe what you want about the past but it all boils down to "what has been done with them lately!" People want to change the past or re-write it for their brag about their bloodline of dogs. All lines had winners some very good but ride on the shirt tail of someone else's success? After awhile they will no more then AST quality bred. People need to show some heart and dogman up and prove their talk and quit belittling others. Walk it like you talk it!

 

One problem with this thought, Floyd didn't get the dogs, his father did who Don didn't know. "The Story of an Unknown Dogman" is a true story. Brian is back in Nashville and will tell you where Clayton got his dogs. If Eli was from Don's stock, as you claim, btw I have yet seen the conflict of the stories Floyd told, but since Eli produced champions and Don's dogs weren't, Don should have been on his knees humming to get the stock. lol Don had access to the male used on Cry Baby and Cry Baby went back to Don. Mayfield ELI. lotflmmfao @ u. Well that is Don for ya, he tried to take credit of producing Ch. Alligator when it was produced by the famous and top dogman Jim Williams! When Jim came out and played, Don couldn't hold Jim's jock strap!

IMO, This is a good read ! As far as paper's go, They have been hung by different
breeders. Shotgun Arkansas summed it up. The recipe for winning wasn't public knowledge. I don't agree with paper hanging, But is does take place. At the end of the day, I respect Floyed B. as one of the Top breeder's on this planet.
