So, my hound woke up this morning with a limp. I went to check him out and seen his toe nail was split down the middle and all the way to the base and his toe was a little swollen. What have you guys and gals done for things like this before?

What I did was, super glue the nail together, then I painted it with clear nail polish. A shot of penicillin and by the end of the day, he was weight bearing again.

What do yall do for this?

I am soft and would go to my vet. Just keep a close eye for possible internal infections in case the one shot was not enough and good luck with it. Super glue is used a lot in fixing bird beaks so I guess it should be OK.

Just some super glue. Blood stop powder if needed.

Crazy thing is, it never bleed or at least I couldn't tell it did. Another shot of cillin and another coat of glue and polish and we are back to work.
