Many people and old dogman consider a cold dog a sort of gameness..cold bitches always produce good dogs..i don't know cold x cold but this one seems to have very good blood inside

I would never breed a cold dog to a cold bitch. You would be focusing a breeding around cold dogs. Breeding one is bad enough let alone sticking 2 of them together.

I also wouldn't say all cold bitches produce as that is certainly not true. I don't view it as a form of gameness, I view it more as a form of retardation.

I don't really agree with that statement but everyone has their methods. I'm no breeder by any means so I would just go with my gut instinct. Also when you have other options why bother go to a cold one? Especially when there are questionable dogs in the ped I do not see any reason to double up on traits that you don't desire.
I'm sure cold bitches or any dog for that matter will produce something when bred enough but I'm sure going out to feed your animals every night you would always have questions in your head and when reality sets in your gonna say you knew better and your gamble did not pay off.

With a yard full of game dogs you are right but with time and space i think it's a gamble like others and history teach...
    White's Irene por
    Edward's nellie
    Cottingham's Sheba por
    Loposay's buster rom
Carver's satin Lady (mano Carver's dogs was cold)
All great producers, all cold dogs and the list goes on..

Many people say gameness too is a sort of retardation or genetic defect

I think he may mean un-natural behavior, against the fight or flight instinct of nearly every creature on the planet, that is essential for survival. Gameness=no self preservation and in the wild that will get an animal killed or too badly injured to survive. I've read plenty of conformation APBT owners talk about the Game dogs in a negative light as too how they are too inbred, etc. But many performance dog breeds are inbred and line bred to keep the desired traits.

Some people say a cold dog who take punishment with no bite back is a sort of inverse gameness..

To each there own.. if and when I breed I breed for traits that I desire.. also I'm breeding for future generations. Once you've established 3-4 gens of dogs you know, you will have a idea what to expect from your litter. I don't care for what others have done in the past with success. I'm solely focused on my program.
It's funny that you name many great producers that have whelped or sired good game dogs without talking about the percentages meaning how many were worth feeding compared to how many became worm food. You may get a good litter off a cold individual but when you start to build your own program and recessive genes keep popping up and your scratching your head wondering why..
Again I only keep a handful of dogs and my standards may or may not be higher then some So I only keep what I consider a good dog and am only willing to pass on the genetics of these individuals .

Not saying anyone is wrong or right just stating my opinion.

Please don't misunderstand me...You are right with your program i don't want To change your mind. It's Just to talk about dogs and exchange our opinions. If i have time, space and a cold dog i trying to do something..

I don't agree with this statment..bred a dog before he quit (bullyson and other), bred to cold or havy mouth 20min dogs or by fake breeding....
Every ped is full of curs..it's a fact!

"EVERY PEDIGREE IS FULL OF CURS" I would have to say it's not that simple. Full of curs 8-10 generation past but was CULLED HARD from 10 generation to PRESENT is not the same as scattered TESTED STOCK 8-10 generations back & then proceed to breed CURS from that stock to the PRESENT. I think the key is how you define CUR. Is untested COUCH PET a cur? Is 2:30 (with piss poor or inexperience keep)in hunt then quit a cur? Is 2:30 (with superb keep) in hunt then quit a cur)? Is 30 minutes in hunt with BEAR TRAP & quit a cur? Some will put a TIME LIMIT on one to determine a cur or not(2hr quit,2hr30min quit,3hr quit). Hell there have been 2hr cur snappers that scratch all day. DONUT TURNERS (constantly turning looking to avoid contact),but scratch all night. And can't forget those that scratch & bite (rated 8 or above), but have their tail curled under and tuck to its belly for 2+hrs & WIN!!
AS AN EXAMPLE THIS PEDIGREE DOESNT SEEM TOBE "FULL OF CURS"

I mean many ped are fake, look all carver stuff, tg and many other..
I mean little gator was cold And he was a top producer..
i mean bullyson was the best 50lbs dogs in the world but quit his third, thats a cur to many people's eyes but he start his line...the same with snooty dogs and the list goes on..
