A dog is in a keep, and half way through you have to stop, how long would you wait untill you start the keep over?

Or, would you start the keep depending on the dogs condition?

As far as the minimum time the dog has not been work, 3 weeks, without any work.

you pretty much answered yourself it all depends on the condition of your hound

I'm no expert, but personally I would wait about 2 months then completely start over. But like I said, I may be off it just sounds right.

you gotta look at the dog individually and make that judgement. I know i would want mine fully rested and recovered but some people are harder on their hounds than others.

Nothing wrong with the hound, personal reasons are why I stopped.

I wouldn't necessarily start where I left off, I would. Just watch the dog and see where he/she is at and go from there if the dog is healthy

Maybe do an endurance assessment and go from there, but in order to be accurate you would have to have used a similar assessment before the keep.

No break was taken, it was stopped altogether.

@LWG, why would you wait a whole two months?

depends how long the break was. a week and i would resume where left off, more than that i'd probably go 50% and see where the dog was at.
