nothing better....except for the raw (not canned)....some of the tripett canning loses soem nutrional value but no much..it is still good stuff and easier to handle than the raw 'chubs'....but it is as good for the puppy as anything out there...best of luck...US1

Thanks slim! I figured if it was good for the mom it was good for them but wanted to make sure! I can't feed fresh in my house (I don't have a yard) due to the smell LOL!

that is the benefit of having it in a can....try it in a frozen chub/4lb slab....as the old folks say..it will gag a maggott....it is rough..the can is tough but not near as bad as the raw....the can is a lot easier to handle and dispense....US1

The can actually doesn't smell too bad! However, I have memories of the 1960s of my aunt heating canned Alpo in bacon grease on the stove for her dogs. Just remembering that makes my skin crawl.....

Saturday I'm getting a male Rottweiler puppy and he will be fed Blue Buffalo Longevity Puppy Formula and supplemented with Animal Naturals K9 Puppy Gold. This puppy has a heart murmur and the research I've done says L-Lysine and Taurine can help get rid of heart murmurs. Plus both have lots of good stuff for his hips and joints, since Rotties are prone to bad hips/joints.
