Most of the well known breeders of the past made more money off the dogs then W2's.

I don't feed any of his dogs. I have a little shot of his dogs in the back of my dogs when we made a cross. I am simply too cheap to pay that kind of money for a puppy. But with that said.....

if a person is looking to buy their first dog that is as good a place as any. The yard is pristine. The dogs are well cared for and live like kings/queens. The majority of the dogs there being bred, especially the males, are buy backs after someone else did all the riding up and down the road.

I would not stake my money on the fact every dog that leave the yard is papered as advertised but the odds of getting a good dog from there are just as good, if not better, than any other place. Will some of them quit? Absolutely. Will some of them make it to the show? Absolutely. Will most fall somewhere in between? Again, absolutely.

Off topic but the same. My Pops had a friend who bought a half assed ice machine in the mid n70's. He put it in a building that looked like the next puff of wind would blow it over. Every one laughed and asked him how he thought he could make money selling frozen water. 50 years later he has about forty or fifty trucks delivering ice. 60-70 of the ice dispensers. He sells blocks of ice as big as a kitchen table. He has had it licked for a number of years now.

Something as simple as frozen water. It is something people want but do not really need. I mean they drink warm beer in other parts of the world. LOL. He has it where they want it for what they are willing to pay for it and every year he inches the price up a little. And every year the drunks down by the lake fill their coolers and set out on the water, going next I am not going to pay $1 for a bag of f'ing ice. Then ten years later it is "no f'ing way will I pay $3 for a bag of ice. And so on and so on.

All in the name of frozen water. Tom Garner no different. Heck of a business man.

Tom surely garners a lot of hate :-) Par for the course for successful people. I would bet the majority of loudest critics/“ethical breeders” have enjoyed a fraction of his success.

100% business man 100% most off the males are buy back from all around the world even Some off them are not recorded and 100% u can doubt the quality off the the Some males. Also the Leaque where this dogs needed compete before buy back were not high quality leaques.

After saying this i will add some from my view.
There is no such thing as the best or better bloodline, every bloodline has potential as long as the man behind it has the quality to bring it out of them. Its about the quality off the man behind the dogs and the quality off his standaard . I believe more in familys than a bloodline ofcourse i have my favoriets thats because that one suits me! You have to breed the same, condition the same and most important, cull the same and have the vast amount of sheer number of dogs resources to do it. If you’re not able to do the last two than forget about breeding them dogs with success,

everything everybody change in years i have respect for Tom Garner for his work in past but now i only see him ass business man. I see people telling here up he have good kennels good place yes he have everything to be a best business man. But when you change in a business man quality get down. If u see how many pups he sale each year and what we see back i think there is nothing you can be proud about it. If you have about numbers look at how many dogs he have and how many he breeds and how many off them Made the cut

U all wil get the answer u need if u are looking for the truth.

Offcourse with hout Tom his work we would not have Some off this quality foundation off the dogs today. But that doesnt change the situation for what he is doing today

Agreed. To a point. But it would not be fair to grade him on the sheer number of dogs when so many are just bought to be bred. So when he sells an in-bred puppy off so and so for $$$$$$ the odds of that puppy being checked, or even looked at, go down. So in turn he eats that part of the 'quality numbers'.

So many people will buy a $1000 puppy 2nd hand from the source instead of going to the source for another $500 or so more. The problem is that Tom has to eat that too.

My grand dad had beagles. He had four pens. Two in the front for males and females and two in the back. Any Tom, Dick or Harry that came buy with a $100 could get a AKC registered Beagle with a guarantee. No one was allowed in the back and when those dogs were loaded up, the rabbits were going to be piled up.

I see a lot of that with the Garner dogs. Any Tom, Dick or Harry with $$$$$ can get one off the bottom shelf but there are a select few that can get stuff from the top shelf.

And the business part of him more than likely has fifty people thinking they are top shelf customers when in reality it may be 10 or so. If that makes sense.

Just like any other breeder, people win and lose with his dogs every week end. And just like any other business he perpetuates what works. The kicker being he is more than likely the "only one who knows what is actually working or what that recipe is".

You are not saying some of the breeders in the past did not pad their wallet .Like Pat Patrick and Floyd Boudreaux and David Tant just to name a few.For the love of the Game and for the love of the money.

No doubts there is money to be made and no doubts there has been money made.

It is like I can talk shit about my sister but you are not allowed to do the same.

Like if Joe down the road complains to animal control about your dogs as a group we go into an uproar about minding one's business, better times in yesteryear, beating Joe with a ball peen hammer, etc. etc. but at the same time if that guy sells three or four puppies....then he is lower than whale shit.

There are many breeders in SC ,NC, GA, Fla, Alabama, Tenn, Ark, what have you. Tom's Garner is a Legend . He had a vision, put in the work to be more than likely the biggest puppy player in the game. I personally haven't bought anything from Tom. So I am just giving my 2 cent into the tread. However, I have spoken with Tom many times over the last 10 plus years and he's always been a Gentleman. If I asked him a honest question, He gave me straight up answers. He charges his price. Im sure that if I was to go to Tom with cash in hand, He would treat me fair. As Slim said earlier, I don't know how many folks on this tread have raised and bred Bulldog's,b I have a and it's a dam Job ! I'm talking really taking extra care of the Bulldog's and pups. Money wise? I think in today's times 600 is a working man's price. 400 is better, lol. Yet look at how much money some of the breeders have charged for Pup over the years for example, ,Waccamaw. Titan., Evolution, Chico , lol ect. The best quality Bulldog's I've ever owned I bought right here on gamedog. p.s. I spoke to Louis Colby back in 2009 and one of his sons Jack , back then Males were 700. females 900. A pup. That's one reason why I don't know of a lot of folks who would pay that much for a pup back then, or now lol...

  12. Would you sell a dog for a house?
Would you,if on the other side, give a house for a dog?

It’s ridiculous on both sides but I’m bit soft like that.
I just thought it was worthy of note lol,I never seen no body mention it.

It’s really none of my business about people buying or selling dogs.what ever transitions you do or talk about with people about that stuff should be kept between you and them.

I sill find it funny about the blind billy and house thing.

    All the best.

He's talking about someone trading a house for a dog. Not buying a dog as a house dog.

I’ve done business with TG,bought and bred off the hill.
Let me be clear... I don’t have any hate for him nor do I give a shit about how many puppies he sale or the money he makes, but I will never fuck with the man again.... PERIOD.
I had heard all the stories but there’s nothing like your own personal experience.
As I stated before no hate, best of luck. And a good old fashioned FUCK YOU!!

Well Hell. You can buy houses that need a ass of work for 5k around here. Maybe in a area that's falling apart as well. Lol, let's keep this in mind. Hobbies are expensive. Golf. Fishing, Hunting, Boating, Dirtbikes, what have you. So if I went and spent 40k with Pat Musi back in 2008 for a 421 small block with old Nascar' outlawed 12 degree Buick heads , sheet metal intake ,/ 2 pro fogger Nos systems on set up on kill 300 out the hole. another 400 gun to grab on out , if needed. That's small money to the Stevey Fast Jackson, or Billy Glidden, or nowadays JJ Da Boss lol. You got to pay to play..
