I see what you are saying.but if you don't keep the gene tight you will lose it. and yes when you get really tight u start to have faults thats a givein. how I feel is u are makeing the gene resessive u are holding it for let say a rainy day. the dog u see has it's faults but when crossed it pulls what you liked about that line out. I mean u have to have a out after so long which i use a distent family member. I run two lines i like and that is what I use as an out to. but bring it back and tightn it back up.and like u said breeding peds just to make it look good that ain't wright. what has worked for me is 50/50 crosses but frome my understanding of making a good 50/50 cross is that both line have to be tight.I made 2 breeding off of this dog http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/modules.php?name=Public&file=printPedigree&dog_id=220936 and this dog http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/modules.php?name=Public&file=printPedigree&dog_id=203184 and had 18 pups out of two litters and all of them looked really good

Indeed it is extremely tight inbreeding.

I wouldn't take one if it was offered to me for free...just not my cup of tea.

my mistake...all these words are all in my subconscious and sometimes
get crossed in translation. correct... tight inbreeding of line bred dogs.

I'm just posting an example of what brood stock gets derived from, as well as when
it's time to add an out cross.

I find interesting that Garner's severly inbred dogs are better than those of other great breeders. And that as a whole, he can inbreed tighter than most other lines and still get good dogs. Take it for what it is worth. Somehow it defies logic?!

yea ive wanted to know how those dogs bred that tight on that earl stuff is performing and/or producing. I've seen some good earl jr stuff but not bred that tight and it was crossed in with some old spike stuff and it was pretty good stuff but the guys who had it bought from tg back in the days and by the time their dogs got too old and too tight they no longer wanted to buy from tg and cant find any of it anymore thats good stuff

tell em...tell em like it is! why buy from the clone machine when
you can get them from the source.
    IE: fblb bulldog barn.

tg has the magic touch,...when people stop resisting they'll be
that much better off.... or not.

I ain't no bulldog barn by far, man...don't know what's up with that little sarcastic remark. I suppose it's because I wouldn't want one of those pups. If it is about me mentioning the bulldog barn in another thread then yeah I did. Just like what they are working with better....not a tg hater, hell I answered your thread Hypothetical Armageddon. I just don't happen to like that particular litter you posted in this thread.

lets try not to turn this into a padlock/garner thread.

I will say this, people with those little frank dogs say that stuff is due for an outcross so it will be interesting to see what direction tg goes once LF passes. The Earl Jr dogs seem todo well as a quarter out.

Some dogs stand up to heavy inbreeding more than others but eventually you hit a wall and have to go outside the blood to shake it up. nothing wrong with outcrossing before the "wall" even shows up. outcross with a great dog with proven dogs behind it then linebreed after that.
