A 45LB border collie barking and wagging his tail. After I beat the snot out of the shooter I would have bounced his head off the pavemant till in bled brains.

Are you implying that a 45 pound Pitbull should warrant a different reaction than a 45 pound Border Collie ???

I'm saying unless my 45lb pitbull bites you,,,,,you might not want to shoot ANY dog that I own.

  6. Re: OHMIDOG! : “You’re damn right I shot your dog”

    Yup...
because I'm going to wait until an intruder actually cuts me with his knife before I put a bullet into him...
because my wife is going to wait until a rapist is actually inside of her before putting a stop to the assault...
and because I'm going to wait until a dog is latched onto my body, doing permanent damage before I cause the poor dog any injury.

    That sounds pretty legit!

Naw...I think I'll just keep my stance that owners should be in control of their animals AT ALL TIMES. If the owner has his dog secured on a leash, then any amount of barking and displays of aggression can be overlooked. However, when a stray dog is running towards my kids displaying any sort of aggressive behavior whatsoever...WORM FOOD - sory for your loss, and maybe next time you'll be more responsible with your animal.

Yeah, I'm shooting your dog down also. My kids won't be touched by no stray dog off leash. I go Above and beyond to contain my animals, so should the next man. If my retired bomb dog got lose and you see him coming, you better protect your ass because he don't know any better lol.

Were talking about lassie here.I'm the first one to plug an aggressive dog,but I'd also make sure the dog was aggressive first.Maybe a warning shot, and if the dog keeps coming then plug him.Cops,(on duty or not) are trigger happy by nature. It probably could have been prevented, but he was programed to shoot at the first sign of fear, witch is exactly what he did.

Wow....and yet you probably get pissed off when people make prejudices and stereotypes against your chosen breed of dog based on its looks. Hmm....

If it looks like a 45 pound pitbull, shoot it....but if it looks like a 45 pound Lassie-dog....let it bite you first and then shoot it. F'ing unbelievable.

If I was the shooter, you would only be beating my snout in your dreams before you wake up in a hospital from a non lethal gunshot wound that I inflicted for self defense in my home that you tresspassed to get to me, you also would only be bouncing my head off the pavement till it bled brains in your fantasies while you were serving a sentence for the above mentioned crime.

You know what happens to people who bring their fists to a gun fight right? Dont be stupid toom, have a little common sense, and leave the banger mentality out of the net next time you log on.

I didn't say if it looks like a pitbull shoot it.I said it warrants a different reaction because it capable of different things. For the same reason a barking rottweiler demands more caution than a barking wiener dog.

And if your so scared that you may not be able to ward off a 45lb border collie, while holding a loaded pistol ,than you have no business owning a dog in the first place. What would you do in that exact situation if you didn't have a gun??

  15. Re: OHMIDOG! : “You’re damn right I shot your dog”

You won't catch me outside of my house without a gun....so I can't answer that question. The real question is why couldn't the owner of that dog keep and maintain posession & control of their animal. Seems to me that the burden of social responsibility falls on the owner here, not the shooter.

Take a split second look at a dog and determine based on its looks whether to shoot it or not? Still can't believe that's coming from an pitbull owner....

  16. Re: OHMIDOG! : “You’re damn right I shot your dog”

Do you have kids? A single fuckin' scar is too much damage when given by some assholes stray dog. A golden retriever, collie mix, etc. can do as much damage as a Rottie....so NO, I would NOT take breed specific tendencies into consideration prior to protecting my children. Period.

Hey, if you are willing to risk your children's health and well-being to save the life or limb of an unrestrained dime-a-dozen animal...you go right ahead.

No,I actually know someone in a similar situation who beat the shit out of the guy and got away with it.Two guys were hog hunting on a ranch and they were trespassing, they turned there dogs loose, dogs bayed up a hog and when they ran into the woods, there were two ranch hands standing over their dogs. One was holding a rifle and waited until the owners were about 30ft away and shot his dog right in front of him.The other guy dove on top of his dog so they couldn't shoot him.As soon as that man dropped his guard the owner grabbed the rifle in one hand and started hitting him with the other.Wasn't long before the ranch hand had his ass whooped, and got his gun took. And neither men went to jail.So it doesn't always go the way one would think.

Re: OHMIDOG! : “You’re damn right I shot your dog”

Yes I do have kids, and they would be behind me and I would shoot him long before he got to them let alone me.But I would make sure that the dog hiking, with his family of three kids chasing behind him was aggressive before I shot him. That's all I'm saying.

Re: OHMIDOG! : “You’re damn right I shot your dog”

Yes typically I can look at an approaching dog and tell by his body language what his intentions are.Being a "pitbull" owner I try to tell a lot by there actions.

They were hiking guy, fell in the water, and the dog got ahead of him ,and his three children on the trail.Shit happens.

And wow....I couldn't imagine a life where I was so scared of the world that I couldn't venture outside my home without my gun.
