The more I read message boards the more I realize I do not understand some of the basic terminology used to talk about bulldogs. At one point, years ago, I actually thought I understood some of these things. But it is becoming more and more apparent to me that I must have been misinformed. Here is a list of some words and what I mistakenly thought they meant and what I am now coming to believe they mean. I would appreciate it if some of the more bulldog savvy folks on this board could help me out with some basic definitions. Please give your input on the definitions of these words, because I am really confused.

Gamebred: I thought it meant bred for the game, preferably for several generations. What I now think it means is that 1 or 2 dogs back in the 3rd or 5th generation were used in the game but the rest of the dogs in the pedigree were bred to sit on a couch.
    <O:p></O:p>
Good Producer: I thought it meant a dog who has actually produced multiple winners in multiple different litters. What I now think it means is a dog with a whole bunch of hot acting, crazy puppies on the ground.
    <O:p></O:p>
Producing Fire: I have no idea what the hell this means. But apparently it is part of the definition of a good producer. What is Fire and what good does it do for a dog? My experience with fire in my life tells me that the hottest fires burn out the quickest. Am I mistaken? How do I tell if my dog has Fire?
    <O:p></O:p>
Well Bred: I thought it meant a dog whose pedigree is full of proven performers and producers. What I think it means now is a dog inbred as tightly as possible, preferably a full brother x sister breeding.
    <O:p></O:p>
These are just a few terms. If you can help me out with these I am sure I will think of some more.

the only gamebred dogs nowadays are the hunting breeds. anyone saying different in the states is a dumbass. " good producer" is a opinion and always been a opinion. one mans trash is another mans treasure. " well bred" falls in the same category of a person opinion. "Producing Fire" sounds like a sales pitch.

Throwing fire just means its puttin good ones on the ground, bit of slang thats all.

but you know, majority usually rules. So the more a certain kind of people take ownership of a breed the more they tend to try and change certain definitions to fit their own dogs purpose.. example: definition of game.
