my 4th loss and why i'am here

I've had my last to rott's stolden, i figured they were raised to be too friendly, they were the kind of dogs that looked more entemidating than they actually were, as a resault they were either shoot by deer hunters or taken.
I decided to go with a breed i was more formilour with and that had a bit more additude.anyway my luck has continued to be nothing less than bad. I am 100% possitive of the fact my last 2 pit pup's were poisoned the last female died saturday, 1 yr almost to the day the last passed away.she could have been saved if the vets who were supposed to be on 24 hr call just would have taken the time to return my call befor sunday after noon, instead i had to watch my pup die what had to be a auful way to go. todays monday and still not so much as a call from the vet's office at this piont its for the best believe me ! i just hope someday someone or something they care about suffer's a likewise fate. :mad:
the reason i'am here is to share in my time for a breed i'am in love with because i've recieved so much from my pit's in the past, and i'm hoping to find someone whos got a female pup so i can begin breeding which was my plan of 2 yrs ago, but for now since i've lost my last 2 pup's to a basturd who has fear and hate in his heart, i'll have to take it slow as the loss of my last to female's have caused me a slite monatary set back.

 

Im Sorry To Hear This But U Should Call The Vet Place And Let Them No What There Not Returning A Phone Call Has Done And Tell Other People.

 

definately call the place and let them know that they may have been able to save your dog/dogs. and warn anybody else you know with pets of the place. hate to hear about your dogs....

Bro, your here for another reason too, because I guarantee when youve had a bad situation or need advice or even want to unravel theres no better place than here...we all bite each other once in a while and usually go for the tongue since were all bull headed shit talkers, but I swear this is a family of doggers, some into gamedogs some into show and everything else inbetween, but in the long run we are a force of love for the APBT and regardless of what one thinks about the other persons interests and ways with their they dogs we remain that way... my point is that that we all here for a reason and you just found it, we all need each other and seek that input from people like us and cant find it elsewhere. Acceptance is the other reason and once you let this sites members toughen up your skin a little for some of the heated debates youll see were all still back the next day and here for that same reason..Welcome to the site and nice to meet you. Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. Thank You all for your words of welcome and condolence. You know i called this Vet's Office and had words, i explained how i call both of there #'s provided for emergency care many times until giving up and calling for others to help and how i ran into the same problem not getting anyone to answer the damn phone, one number i called that was listed in the book was no longer in service.
After half the morning on the phone i decided to call back our vet and leave a message and you know here it was wednesday and i hadnt heard a word about how's your pet ? did you find help for you animal ? NOTHING not a single word as of yet and here we are a week later. anyway when i spoke to the lady at my vets office, and informed her of my intention to seek monotary compensation she exclaimed "well did you try so and so " YES i did i tried very one with in a 50 mile radius ! and couldnt get anyone to answer a phone. then she says "well you may want to remember that little fact if you plan on suing us " at that point i lost it :mad: I said "LOOK YOUR OUR PRIMARY HEALTH CARE PROVIDER " and besides the others arent advertising 24 hr emergency care. that quieted her up some. do you want the Doctor to call you and talk to you later today, not even a good idea as pissed as i was.
All things concidered do any of you think i've got a case ?

 

Its hard to say ...it will all depend on how the law regulates that sort of thing..i would assume that if you advertise 24hr emergency care you should be giving it.. your best bet is to talk with a lawyer ... did you record all the times you tried to call the vets? How about all the other vets (this would be your proof ..without it, it would be your word against thiers..)

It never hurts to try ,, and besides, maybe by you speaking up, you will prevent other pet owners from having to go through the same heartache..

At least call the BBB .. let them know that this place advertises 24 hr emergency vet care and that when you had an emergency, they never responded...

 

rocksteady the pic of your animal looks just like my lucy i'am here in N.D. and in a rural setting and for as many farmers with as many animal in these parts it just plain unbelievable i couldnt get ahold of a vet. would love getting in touch with the BBB but around here theres no such thing.
I've noticed a few of you are from places like IN. and Mich. well my home is Hammond , In. and i plan on going back soon to visit my oldest Daughter, i can take 1 of 2 routs to get there so if anyone in Michigan or Indiana has a female pup for sell that would be great.

I dont know if you got a court case or not but you should let everyone know what happened to you , tell the news paper they might do a write up about it tell all your neighbors and friends A vet is supposed to be a doctor and help the sick no matter what .Make it known .

I would say NO, they are not obligated to serve you or even return your phone call. That is/would be the professional thing to do, but not something they have to do. Move on with your life and become better prepared before getting another pup. If you have neighbors that poison pets…keep Vitamin C and activated charcoal on hands at all times (should have it anyways)! Learn a little about medicine; find a new veterinary, and then when the time comes get another pet. Don’t live in the past or try to blame the veterinary for your dog’s death!

 

Tex : although your advise is sound in nature you presume to much . what i mean is I ,while not as educated as most Veternarians
I'am a long shot from being ignorant. you see some years ago i befriended a Veternarian who's Hospital i totally rentavated, i learned alot in the corse of the year i was there, set in on many sergeries and while some may finding it a bit shocking was even allowed to preform a few.you presume i set idley by and helplessly watched my pet die, that's not the way it went ! i gave her injections of Iron and vitamin C and forsed as mush Charcoal down her as she could handle and also tried to bring her electorlites back up all to no avail of corse.
I will move on just as i've done once or twice befor, Now again all things concidered being your more informed aside for the person who layed down the poison, if i did all i could do to save my pets live and the Vet wouldnt even so much as return a call, who's to blame then ?
Let me pose this question to ya , If your Family took you to the hospital for treatment and while in the E.R. you set until your passing away ,dont you believe your Family would find the Doctor or the Hospital responcible ? "of corse they would "and that's the same damn thing and its not all that gray of an issue in my oppion. I am blaming the Vet and i will warn people to avoid there office like the pleage as well as follow up with legal action thats my full entention, I've got too !
now please concider one last thing will ya ? I didnt come here to ruffle any's feathers nor get on the bad side of anyone, i'am honestly very much greving thats all. hope you understand.
