Floyd would have a far better chance in MMA match than Conor would in a boxing match. Floyd is a as fast as they come. He would not be as easy to take down as people may think. He can move backwards quick and he can punch while moving backwards. Don't get me wrong though Conor is a heavy favorite in a MMA fight. As for them boxing Conor would look like a fish out of water. I have seen 14 year old amateur boxers that would light Conor up with ease.

I agree ,I think Floyd would light Conor up in a boxing match but I believe Conor would get him in a MMA contest.

Everyone has a certain degree of chance but each of them are great in there respected fields for a reason and when each crosses over to the other there weakness will be exposed.

If we are talking strictly boxing Floyd Is my pick any man has a punchers chance and that's where it ends Floyd is a boxing wizard however a decent college wrestler would destroy floyd stoping a double leg singel leg judo throw can take years to learn remember the old UFC days a that dry humping.. so let's break it down if we are doing a stand up fight with k1 style rules kicks knees and elbows I'm going to lean towards Conor those kicks to the body and legs or that oblique kick to knees are things Floyd has never dealt with ..

Like all combat matches Connor has a chance in the ring and Floyd has a chance in the octagon. This wil be a boxing match and Connor has one maybe two rounds worth of chance.
He has no boxing bouts to review on tape. There will be a lot of unknowns going in and this is his best chance to score and to KO Mayweather.
From the other side Floyd Mayweather is maybe the greatest boxer to ever live. When a guy who has spent his entire life dedicated to punching a guy in the face and then gets into the ring with Floyd and can't punch him in the face, I'm not sure what makes Connor think he can accomplish punching him in the face.

Floyd will dance and duck moreso in the first couple of rounds than he would with another professional fighter and from that he will pick him apart.

I can't see, "YO, ADRIAN, I DID IT" any where in Connor's future.

Like it was said before I'm not a fan of either. Mayweather ducked Pacqiou for five or six years, waited for him to be older and slower and then cashed in. He ran from Canelo and Canelo or Triple G would be a much better chance to cement his reputation as one of the all time greats in the sport.

Connor is a rough cur. Talented, but no heart.

I can't see me dropping the PPV money to watch a joke like this.

From the get go of this, the sport for this promotion was boxing not MMA.

From the short sparring clips I posted above and from what I’ve seen on UFC, Conor is very much straight up, straight in, linear boxer/striker. He certainly has knockout power is naturally a bit larger, maybe even physically stronger overall of the two. Yes Conor has a chance. But Floyd is the master of angles - at any range, and has technically perfected his craft like only a few welterweights in the history of the sport. There is no comparison in skill level.

    Not necessarily.

    1) Money and Pac Man camps were in long time disagreement over drug testing; when they did finally meet, Pac Man had an injured shoulder.
    2) Canelo was bigger, stronger and younger than Money. I don't call it running, but smart ring tactics.
    3) Like Canelo, Triple G is a natural middleweight, Money a welter. Not a smart fight for Money at this latter of his stage of his career IMO. [It's a different era from Duran, Leonard, Hagler, Hearns...]
    4) Conor is a credible MMA fighter: plenty heart displayed against Nate Diaz (another great MMA fighter).

He won't be around for a while. Talked to him today though, said he misses the board and that Mayweather is going to destroy Conner. His words.

No need to contemplate who would win under what rules. If it actually happens it will be a boxing match not MMA.

Then will McGregor's MMA background give him some kind of unorthodox style or insight into boxing that will give him a chance against Mayweather? Mayweather's defense is likely to tire McGregor out unless he can figure out a way to break through.

I don't see him having a chance at all but that's just me, don't take my word though, I don't know shit from shit. I guess he could land a lucky one or Floyd decided to do heroin the night before or something. Lol I really can't see CM making it past the 4th before it's curtains. I'd feel a bit different under MMA rules but that's not going to be the case and hate him or love him Floyd is indisputably a phenomenal boxer. Different world when you can't clinch or grapple.

Connor is a very credible MMA fighter. I felt like he quit in the first fight. He could not have his way. He is naturally bigger than anyone in his division and cuts weight very well. He big dogs people. When he got big dogged and could not get his way he quit in the first fight. He simply gave up when before a tap was necessary. Quit fighting.

I think Mayweather will feel him out for a round or so. Then figure out distance and angles and toy with him for the rest of the way. Mayweather does not have great knockout power but he is maybe the best boxer to ever lace them up. If I had never boxed professionally I do not think I would make my debut with arguably the greatest boxer of all time.

At the same time if Connor were to do a tune up/prep fight he would get exposed and the payday would be no more.

For the payday I do not fault wither of them. I would be more than willing to make an ass out of myself or an ass out of someone else for 20million dollars. LOL

I have had my ass whooped for free, no problem taking one for 20 million.
