Why r these breedings so expensive. How can they justify selling a pup for 1500 plus ??

I dont know,I called once and he had a gyp for sale pure yellow I think 43.75% cefficent on yellow John(that was his reason) he was asking 2500 for the 2 yo gyp. My gyp is heavier than that and from more proven stock and I paid way less. But I think he is a good guy and I guess if someone would pay me that much I would take it too?

its a free country, if you do not want to pay it then don't.its not communism, people can ask what they want for their product and i think it is fair to expect that people that have worked hard for a superior record and big winning dogs should ask more for a pup than billy down the road that used his pals housedog on his bitch. you pays your money and takes your chance.

Because of the good ol american supply and demand, you want a dog directly off a GR Ch then your going to pay for it, just like if you want dogs off any well known dog, unless your tight with the owners most likely your going to pay for it in your wallet......1500 is too much for any pup that you may end up having to cull IMO but if you really want the blood from the source than your going to have to suck it up and just do what you need to do to get what you want.......

Well if the breedings r so special and worth the prices, can someone tell me what i should expect to get from say a double or triple bred macho pup - someone asking for 1500-2000 plus for a pup - what can i expect ?? Is there a gurantee factor here to justify the price tag ??????????

You can expect to get a pup, thats about it. No one is going to be able to tell you if the dog will work out or not, only time will telll that.

my uncle told me if you can't take the dog to it's potential, its not worth spending that much. i asked him so many questions before on getting the best bred dog but he said the dog has to match the standards set by the handler, and the handler must be able to have the tools to bring the dog to glory. otherwise, they're just looking for that stud fee or selling pups. i'm not saying you don't have the tools or knowledge but just putting it to perspective like my uncle put to me. good luck!

Well if every pup is a 50/50 gamble, meaning it could work or not - then the only feasible reason why someone has the gall to ask 2 - 3 k for a pup is breeding for pretty papers and nothing more.

Thats the difference between a breeder and a dogman. had a dog man offer me a pup and told me if the pup don't work out bring her back and i will send you home with somethin else. and this was for free. and the dog was bred OUT THE ASS Real heavy Gamblers Virgil. This pup came with a "warenty"....... Oh yeah and did I mention the pup was goin to be free.

He sellin the pups for that much because he know people are goin to pay that much. You also asked how can he do it? How can any other breeder justify selling a pup for that much. they cant... but thats what they feel they stock is worth and/or folks goin to buy em.

    - Im asking a question that may get down to the bottom of why some of these hotshot breeders are asking crazy crazy prices for these dogs.

Machobuck (s) is a very apt name i must say. All my life, ive heard dogmen say the best dogs ar free or no pup is worth a few hundred at best , yet we have here a millionaires club of mega breeders. I just seriously want to know, whats the ultimate difference if i paid 2-3 k or whatever for a pup and if i paid 2-300 hundred for an ``average` non-pretty ped pup. U said every dog is 50/50 and no gurantees - fine i agree , why the price tag of crazy proportions then.

i never said anything of the sort,i do not believe that at all, a dog from 2 super game high ability dogs has to have a better chance % wise than one off of 2 rank curs.ther reason they can charge what they like is because there are people willing to pay for what they see as superior breedings.
