You should never let your dog off a leash even if you are just working her away from everyone else. you have to take in the consideration of other people and the lack of knowledge they have for these dogs, and for the other dogs in this park aswell. You can easily turn a good experiance into a really bad situation where you will be at fault for 1. unleashed pitbull and 2. fighting with another dog. by doing such you are setting up a failure with your dog and the chance of fines, tons of vet bills and even having the dog put down isnt worth the risk in the end is it? do the right thing and buy a horse lead or even a 40ft lead. alot of hunting supply stores carry 40ft leads for gun dogs and i believe Cabela's has some.

I didn't know I had to have a certain amount of posts to reply in an honest manner to a thread? must have missed that on the rules forgive me mods. Well you called her my gf all because I had responded in my own opinion rather then just jumping into the mayhem with the rest of you. Well how long has she had that dog for do you know? I am a bit confused now because some people have written that they know how much she loves her dog and such and now she's just a problem towards today's pit bull world? I mean I am not going to get further into it you guys obviously know more about her then I do since everyone including her has been here longer then I have. However I meant what I had said on my second response to this thread because that was solely based on what I had gone through in this thread.

this place is tough but its even growing on me, came around a couple years ago when i got my first pit bull and left. After owning one for two years though i understood what everyone was so defensive about.. maybe defensive is the wrong word but you get what i am saying.

really? i agree with warzone kinda, this topic is a dead horse thats been beatin.
i mean the subject itself is retarted & unnecessary, she should have known better, dude should have minded his own. im sure they have both learned their lesson & if not than shame on them.
but the fact is we dropped our .02, she got flamed the thread should be closed from here.

I wanted to add something no one else mentioned. I have a very large city park that has redone the baseball diamonds. They are nicely fenced and made a great place to exercise dogs right up until the parks and recreation dept got upset about dog pee killing the grass and people not poop scooping. The dept padlocked the gates. Now kids can't use the diamonds to practice anymore and neither can anyone else.

There are other ways to exercise a dog in the city with a small lot. Use the small lot for flirt pole, install a treadmill in the house for the dog to run on or get a decent bike or pair of rollerblades and have your leashed dog run beside you.
