you repeat something enough times, to a stubborn dog even , eventually its going to do what "told or taught" just to shut you up!,

and get a positive response from you!! , make the dog strive to see what your doing and get your positive side, not the stricked stern side of you...

and everyone will say every dogs different....., but like said before what you put in to them...is what you get out of them for the most part...

    and don't hit puppies!

    like WTF?

A one finger smack on the snout if enough teach a adult, and if you don't like the typical words, like... "let go" ..or.. " No" ..pick something else that works and they respond too,

i personally have grabbed by the scruff and belly upped an adult dog once, to teach the order of dominance,

but only once out of how many dogs?, i think its up to 12 adult dogs and 2 batches of puppies, there no need , and when the situation arises, you will deal withit accordingly, but don't kick the shit ou of your dog, after the second smack the dog don't even remember what it did half the time,

and like TOMMY said, you hit a dog , your looking to get a shy dog....fearfull dog,(unstable) JMO

Listen up people these are bulldogs. At one point or another your gonna have to pop your titty out there mouth and bust there ass.If you have not had to do this yet,you either ..A..Have not owned this breed long enough or ..B..Have to much time on your hands to play fur mommy training games.I don't mean im gonna stomp them in the dirt, but i will let the dog know who's running shit.Yea one of my dogs is head shy,its the one ive haven't had to hit yet.And the one that's had her ass beat on quite a few occasions won't bat an eye lash unless i use profanity.

How the fuck did you become a moderator? This site has become a fucking joke. Shon, Marty, seriously WTF.

I never thought I would see the day when you guys put someone in a moderator
position who encourages other members to actually beat their dogs. Not just a quick smack on the ass but actually beat their dogs. This site is a joke. Ban me. I don't give a fuck. I'm done with this place. This is the reason this breed is associated with pieces of shit. You guys aren't dogmen. You are a fucking joke.

Fuck you Tommy! Got dang! read between the lines. HE DID NOT MEAN TO ACTUALY "Beat" yore puppy. It was a poor choise of words in whitch he later clarified. Sorry we rilled you fethers FurrDaddy.Once again.Just to be shure it is clearly understood. NO ONE SHOULD EVER "BEAT" A PUPPY NOR DOG FOR THAT MADDER. A Physical correction within reason is (I.E. A light smack of the behind or tap on the nose) Will work just fine on a young pup now if a yearling and better is still haveing domminance issues , He needs to be SWhown who is alpha. Just like in got damn Nature. If the problem persist , dont just hit the damn dog .....SHOOT IT!

tommy I'm sorry you lack both reading comprehension skills and common sense. You will be missed but hopefully in your absence you can acquire both.

seriously...it doesn't take much common sense to realize you use less force with a pup than with a grown dog. A light pop to a 7week old pup will knock some sense into them while towards a grown dog it would seem more like a pat. Geezus, this is why I try to stay out of a lot of these threads, everybody wants to argue semantics and dumb bullshit. Use some simple common sense and you'll be fine and please don't curb stomp your animals.

Naustroms did not say anything about beating anything, and his methods are correct imho. A quick slap on the nose will dead any of that food aggression, and it sure beats the hell out of a food aggressive adult dog getting a dirt nap. I personally would rather smack a dog quickly than grab it by the back of its neck and do things to it. I have seen food aggressive pups who will continue to bite when you try to grab them, but with a quick pop on the nose the behavior is DEAD.

These are dogs, and if a 7 weeks old puppy is willing to bite a human, it can get popped on the nose. The pup sure wasn't looking for a "humane" correction method when it bit the OP's wife.

i agree.. a smack on the head does the trick... They must know who the boss is from the jump. You cant allow the pup to get away with that

Naustroms, thank you for getting involved. I've done this with the slim few other pups I've raised but this one was alittle different and I was asking for my wife cause she took claims on this dog which was a gift from someone who is trying to help me get better stock........

By the way tree huggers, the wife got bit again the other night......gave it a quick wrap on the nose.......the bitch curled up against her, barrier her head in my wife's pregnant belly and then started licking the spot on her arm that she bit til she fell asleep. My wife no longer has any problems playing in the food bowl or anything else since. Any questions???

Worse than that.......I'm an ingram guy. :D

  18. There is no better training aid to a misbehaving dog then the human hand. I'm not one for getting other objects involved but have always been a big proponent of a little physical discipline. It has always been that way and it always will.
