Nip that in bud asap. A buddy of mine had a dog that was so damn food aggressive he had to fill the bowl and push the bowl toward the chain spot with a rake. That dog was a man biter. This one ended up getting a dirt nap.

agreed......any one of mine growl at me....right hook, left hook, left boot.....soons let them know whos boss n not to growl at said time....it doesnt hurt the dog in a bad way....more shocks them....like make them think...."ah fuck....shouldnt have done that"...just my opinion tho....:dogkiss:

  7. If she is 3 I think it is to late. Something needed to be done about this years ago. If you beat discipline her now, I think she will only keep doing it.

I'd knock the other few I had when they needed it but then I see people posting on here talkin about it hurts them psycologically and all they want to do is please so just knowing you're upset is enough and a simple no will do. I figured they must know something I don't cause no didn't mean no anyother time till no got followed up with a good whop. Should have just went with my first instinct but I thought I'd check with more experienced folks first. The wife was thrilled to know it's ok......and she's way meaner than any bulldog:eek:

exactly! They show agression with the food swat em and take food away for an hour or so then try again. If they growl swat em and take food away. They aint dumb they will figure it out quick.

I absolutely agree. This site used to be occupied by people who respected the breed. Now, the place is overridden by punks who think human aggression is okay and that it is perfectly fine to beat up a puppy. It is a damn shame.

There is no reason to hit a dog. If you have to beat the dog, then you are not training properly. All the dog needs is to be shown that you aren't putting up with its shit.
Grab it by the scruff of its neck. Look in its eyes so it diverts its attention to you and let it know you are pissed. I havent ever seen a dog that won't realize what it did with some body language. If you show the dog you are pissed, it will get the idea. Beating the dog will break the dog.

Exactly. Grabbing the scruff and scolding the dog is going to do much more good than punching it.

People say that beating the dog will keep it from challenging humans. This isn't true. Do it enough and you are going to eventually end up with a hand shy dog that is suspicious or scared of humans or fast movements. This will end up cause an environment for a dangerous dog. Not the other way around.

Bet y'all dont beat your kids either do ya. I ain't saying stomp a mud hole in them or beat the daylights out of em everyday but a lil whooping goes a long way.

i had to ge tthat outta a 50 lbs grown bitch i got and it wasnt nice. I have some good techniques if anyone is interested tho. back to the puppy thing, if she shows slight aggression a firm NO is the first redirect. if it doesnt stop take the food away. try again on your terms. I will not feed the dogs for 2 days bc i get punked outta the food. If the aggression is more than a slight growl ie snarl, jump at you, or any showing of teach well.... Naustroms told you what to do in his first post lol

How does the dam do it? does she say a firm no and it listens? or does she give it a little swat with her paw or nudge with her nose?
