A 50ft. lead. A pocket full of hot dogs. Every time he gets out 50 feet call him back. If he comes he gets the reward. If he does not drag him back to you. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. In time he will associate you as the guy with the hot dogs.

The car horn works as well. We use a whistle. Every night when we feed up I blast the whistle for short burst while feeding up. In time the whistle means food and they come running.

With that said, some dogs have so much hunt in them it becomes a hunt all night and catch them in the morning type deal. Sucks, but true.

Like most things with the dog it takes time and effort. S

This is the only place it matters. LOL. My wife, to say the least, is not the biggest fan of the dogs. At one time it was bulldogs on one side, hounds on the other and three or four yard dogs running loose. There was no shortage of dogs around here.

Even a dummy like me will learn a few things along the way. S

The same answer applies to almost everything dog related, "PEANUTBUTTER"...
How do I stop a dogfight, the same thing that starts if you dont do it in the right order...
How to get a dog back, the samething that made them take off... Not that the grass is greener but usually its that the neighbors had more peanutbutter...
When breeding, how do I get my dogs to stick??? Make sure to have two jars to keep thier heads occupied and not fighting over who licks the beater...
An old timer told me he used it for flies and smeared on his hounds ears, now i dont know about that but I do know its works for everything else including the recovery of dogs... Its not as much the brand as the amount, costco barrels keep my bulldogs grounded... Litterly i dont kennel or chain my dogs, I use a honey peanutbutter combo taught to me by my grandpops and it keeps their feet intact to the ground, as long as three are planted when we leave for work we can always paste on more when we get home... Id share more, but I dont want to seem wierd...
