How long have you been actively working and raising this breed. I am not talking about the first time you seen an APBT or the times that you watched your neighbor's dog while growing up.
I am talking about the amount of time that you have been raising and working true to standard APBTs that were bred for working ability. Dogs that were bred for looks, personality, and such DON'T COUNT.

Some newbies seem to think that the information given here is given by a bunch of opinionated idiots. Fortunately, that is not the case. I just wanted to show that many of the posters here have been doing this for a very long time.

I am 25 yrs old and have been raised with APBTs all my life. My dad was and still is raising/breeding today. He has very good experience and knowledge with these dogs and I have had the plesure of growing with them since the day i was born. When i turned 18 I moved out and got an APBT of my own, a gift from my father. So I'm not sure if i should start from 18yr old or day 1 of my life. :o

I've lived with Pit Bulls since I was 8 years old, but as they were generally either strays or BYB buys, I couldn't begin to guess what they were bred for. Loki is the first well-bred dog I've owned, and I got her at the beginning of 2004. My experience has served me well, I think, even if it wasn't necessarily with hardcore working dogs.

I don't breed dogs. I am into rescue and the majority of rescue dogs are some sort of "pit bulls." I admire those of you who are preserving the breed...all my dogs are spayed and neutered..all the rescues I work with also are spayed and neutered...
It's my little pleasure to come here and read all the posts by the experienced breeders and owners...I need all the help and encouragement I can get....
I also like to read up on bsl. This is just a great all round site...
When pit bulls fall out of favor(so they are not stuffing the shelters) and I win the lotto, maybe I'll get a pedigreed apbt(If that day ever comes I'll sure get advice from the folks here first), but prolly not...I'm a softie for the poor homeless street mutts thrown out in the streets every day.

I've been training them for police work about 11yrs now. Other, 3yrs. It's very rewarding. My 3 blues, work out just fine, for this kind of work.

Post some video's and pictures of your dogs working, maybe even some training advise too.

I got my interest in the breed fresh out of high school when I went to work for a vet for 2 yrs. I then went on to work for our local humane society. I have learned a great deal but still continue to learn everyday through this forum, literature and hands on. However; I just got my first 2 game bred dogs 2 months ago. So, I have been familiar with the breed for the last 11 years but this is my first year getting into the game bred and working aspect of the breed.

Not all of us newbies that's for sure! :) And an occasional comment from an "opinionated idiot" can be a slap to the face that you need to wake up and start listening. I sure need that sometimes.

2 years, and still learning (and enjoying every minute of it).
