Gaud.... I'm A Sucker

I had this girly dropped off at my house last night by some inept adopters {surprise surprise... why was it that I quit rescue again?! :rolleyes:}. I worked with the rescue in Washington that she came from, and know these guys screen hard, educate with REAL information, do everything they should be doing, but despite all their hard work, the typical thing happened. The adopters nodded in agreement to everything they said, even signed a contract stating how she needs to be handled, agreed to it all, blah blah blah, and dispite all that, it only took a week and a half for them to screw up with her and want to bail when they realized they were in over their heads. So here she was, stranded on the Canadian side, no place to go and in the hands of morons and at risk for being involved in more bullshit, so as a favor to my old rescue cohort.... she's now in my quarantine room. :o I told them I want nothing to do with placing her, screening homes, etc.... as I'm done in that department, but I will keep her safe until they can figure out a spot for her, transport, whatever. Kind of ironic that it was ''Pit Bull Awarness Day'' and this happens. NOT!

Anyhoo.... she hasn't even been here 24 hours and she's already sucking me in to her charm! She's got toy OCD to the max just like I like 'em! lol Not too big on her color though. Not really a dilute fan, not that that's relevant. Seems very solid with people. She's really lovin' the kids. We masked Raven up as we figured better safe than sorry, even though she's never been in the shelter system so she's low risk for us. She was actually a rare owner surrender due to a terminal illness on her owners part. Raven and her had a ball yesterday, literally. She played fetch with Raven for an hour in a small room, back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, and it was as fun to her as if she was in a big yard. lol Even tugged well with Raven, guaging her strength to suit that fact Raven's just itty bitty. She better be out of here soon before I like her anymore. I don't need five dogs. I was hoping to get down to two, after my geezers pass, so I can save up for a slat mill! lol

No clue. I should ask if the rescue got any info on that when she was surrendered. When I see blue fawn and socks, I can't help but think Am Staff, but who knows. She's definitely not bulky at all. Small, lean, ripped and decent drive from what I've seen so far. Sure liked kickin' that mini schnauzers ass, that's for sure. lol

Ya... she is pretty, and I'm a sucker for dogs that love kids, so she's already got me turned to mush! lol

 

Asked about her breeding. Just some local BYB. She's not typical of the ''blues'' around there though. Most are overdone. She's actually quite nicely put together.

 

She's a beautiful dog. I hope someone with sense will opt to take her before you get too attached.

Thats a good lookin pup. I'd have to keep her. Thats why I don't get involved, I'd keep them all.

 

No doubt. She's gotta stop being so damn much fun. I took her in the yard to play fetch for an hour and then she sat at my feet staring at her ball for another hour while I read. lol She's gotta go, before she's not going anywhere! lol She'd rock for someone wanting to get involved in dock diving. I heard she loves to swim. I'm sure swim + toys for her would be a dream come true! lol I even gave her a quick little taste of the carpet mill. She hoped right up on it, walked off the end a few times, so I held her in place and got it rolling a bit. She went with it pretty good. Not stressed. I bet I'll have her going full out on it by the end of the week.

So..... just to update.... ya.... we adopted her. :dogtongue: I just could NOT give up this drivey little girl! lol

This is literally what she spends 99% of her time doing. Staring at, obsessing over and trying to get ANYONE to throw her ball.









The other day she couldn't find her ball so she seriously brought me this inch x inch piece of chewed up soccer ball, placed it on the couch, backed up and stared at it. I thought I misunderstood, so I asked her where her ball was and she lunged at the little piece and ran away all happy! lol Then of course she swallowed the piece :rolleyes: and when I asked her where her ball went, she ran into Raven's room and came back with another tiny piece of soccer ball. OMG. I was laughing so hard I was literally crying!



The kids are just WAY beyond smitten with her. When my rescue friend called to tell me that someone was interested the kids were like NO WAY! She's OURS! lol
