she is gorgeous, i think she must have been looked after ok to get this far. however she is definatly in need of a nice retirement. pats and a warm nest with someone nice, for her would make my day, keep us all posted, and all the best mary

this is a picture of how this so called "great home" Mary was either given or sold to ... [IMG]

I am sure a lot of money was made off her back and this is all that was given back to her ...hummm ..Please know this was NOT taken at one of Garners yards.. Some how Mary end up in a horrible place called "Final Destination Kennels" in Plant City FL.. It boggles my mind how she ended up in this hell hole

Please note that the water bowl was used to give her water during the Animal Services Investigation and confiscation ..her actual water bowl was filled more algae than water

Mary is starting to blossom!!! She is no longer moving like a sloth, she is actually trotting and bouncing around...she is hilarious!!! She has touched all of our hearts at HCAS and as much as we love her, we want her to find a home!!! Carla, you are so awesome for wanting to foster her, she would do so well in your hands.....

Good to read that she is doing better the people that had her before obvioslly didn't give 2 shits about her. Looks like a good dog to sit and watch football with she looks a lot like the dog i used to have when i was younger only a different color. Crap like that irks me bad.

poor old girl, its a real shitty deal when the old dogs arent given a GOOD home to enjoy the years they have left. good to hear she got some spring in her step again

I think that Mary is finally allowing herself to trust us . She has never had this much love and attention . The volunteers have showered her with patience,. love and compassion , not to mention her favorite treat - peanut butter on a spoon. SHe has come a long way in such a short time. She now comes out of her kennel with a pep in her step and does this funny as heck little low to the ground trot. I think that she regained some glimmer of hope and self worth .

thanks to all that have sent well wishes .. we may have a foster for her but we still need to find her a forever home and give her that "happily ever after story " ..

I would take her in a heartbeat and give her a wonderful forever home to live out the rest of her years, but the only downfall is... I'm in CA. Can she be shipped out here?

What a wonder and kind offer.. you never know we might decide to open her up to out of state offers if no one in the Bay area steps up. We have had a few offers for some pretty outstanding fosters but she really needs to go to a happily ever after forever home..all adoptees would be subject to application screening, home check and ect.. I have contacts throughout the USA who could assist in this area....and I am sure I could raise money to have her delivered to that special person who is willing to open thier homes and hearts to this old girl .. so I will keep your name as a possible home ..thanks CJ

TG has 14 litters on the ground how nice and I know he has about 10 more in MX that they wouldnt let him bring back....he doesnt need to breed that many. With all his dough and land if it were really Garner's Mary he would go get her.

[IMG]It is with very sad and heavy hearts that I must report that Garners Mary passed away today at Hillsborough County Animal Services due to an unforseen illness.

Mary was awaiting approval of a Foster application and unfortunately did live long enough to see that happen.

Mary was taken from a horrible situation and was showered with love and affection while at HCAS. She learned to trust humans and actually was learning to enjoy just being a dog. Her flumpy little trot through the kennel and out to the dog park is something I will always hold near to my heart and it will most definately bring a smile to my face upon saying her name .

Mary's gift to us was a gift of patience and resilence. Of simple trust and love.

Iam lighting my candle in memory of this girl who deserved so much better.
