To get something down off one like "Oreo" (ONLINE PEDIGREES :: [175128] :: BMR'S OREO) I'd let myself be staked out in a field and have someone throw yard darts at me !!! Just thinking about all that old school Hetricks and Komosinski blood makes my mouth water.

That Oreo dog looks like one we got here. Call him a bug face lol. Sho' is cute. Certainly that can't be Walter komosinski? What'd that make him like 120?

I talked to Frank after that show in GA. and while he was there. IMO I have told Frank many times that was my favorite dogs he owned.

I see where there are some good dogmen on that pedigree. Slobo, the late Tony Facetti from Toronto. He bought the whole litter off Gr. Ch. Taffy R.O.M. bred to her littermate Mark, later Kenny Gaines bought Mark. The litter was way back in the early 70's. I see in that pedigree some Red Devil dogs of Tony, late Dave Gardiner and Bobby Love. All top flight dogmen.

When you read just "Tony" in the pedigree of Walter's dogs, it isn't Facetti. Different Tony who bought the last of Walter's dogs and very good friends with Palmer Combs and the rest of us.

BTW all lines have culls. I had Gr. Ch. Buck littermate sister here and she was rank.

  7. I reached out to him to try to get his bulldog books, not the story books though. gave him the registered name of my old bithc so he could see that i am still that person if he chose to check.

i asked if he would do a reprint of his books if he didn't have anymore since they would certainly sell. we'll see what happens. i told him i got ed F's book from ed in paper bound form, and also g. Ham's book too, but always wanted his books...

TCF mr Lopez used The thinker dog from frank and bred her to his CH awesome buck dog and produced 2CHs and 2GRCH in same litter.

That was not his dog, he had nothing to do with thinker. Doc wasn't a very good producer either. The only reason he has pups off of him is via frozen.

Who was the better producer of the bunch?

I'd take anything off Thinker. One of the best production performances on record. Haven't seen or heard of anything better.

  14. I remember in Mr. Rocca's book he talks about his very first bulldog, Sinbad. In retrospect, he said, he may have been the best he ever had. The kicker is he never bred to him but fortunately others did, and enjoyed success with it. 20 years after having Sinbad Mr. Rocca obtained a dog or two that were linebred Sinbad and damn good dogs. The reason he never personally bred to Sinbad was because he couldn't verify the dogs pedigree. Funny how life is sometimes. Anyways I wonder if any of the line bred Sinbad stuff is still around.

That is a very well put together breeding. I have Stonewall running through all of my dogs and could not be more delighted.

I invited Frank to come here about 8 months ago and share some of his knowledge and stories with us but he said he stays as far as possible from the forums.. Shame too as I'm sure he has plenty to share.

I'm surprised some of then boys didn't go hollering about " The Colby Line " Hehe. Dam right they can and have made outstanding crosses for the beginning of that line. Good to see a little love for the old Colby hounds..
