FRANKFORT, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The state of Kentucky is a step closer to passing a bill that would make dog fighting a felony.

The Commonwealth is the last state in the nation to make it illegal to possess, train, breed or sell dogs with the intent to fight.

On Feb. 4. Bill 14 passed the House Judiciary Committee and now the bill would add provisions to the current law that makes those who allow or organize the use of animals in fights for pleasure or for profit, are guilty of a felony cruelty to animals.

Kentucky House Speaker Greg Stumbo said the new provisions are needed because of the current law where offenders have to be caught in the act of dog fighting.

The bill now goes to the House floor for consideration.

It sounds like they could be prosecuting people on the basis of flimsy evidence.

They've had an "Intent" law on everything else for years. The stupid fucks are to lazy to work so they make up shit. One of the most corrupt states in the US. Most of the law is more corrupt than the ones they lock up. Locking people up and having free slave labor is a big commercial business here.
