ok heres my offical dumb question? can or do dogs have twins like people may have twins or to be more practical quadruplets?

what are the chances of 2 or 3 dogs from one litter being identical? im pretty sure you would need dna testing to tell but have anyone ever done this?

Guess i don know enough about a bitches eggs to give an answer. I'd say no it doesn't happen but that's just a guess.

i wouldnt think its that likely to happen . you get identical twins from one egg splitting into two after it has already been fertilized. it is surely a possibility though it is rare.you can also have pups born on the same day from the same bitch that have different sires..

i've heard of that happening, two different studs but i've never heard of twins... wouldn't they have to be born in the same sack to be twins?

if the studs are dna profiled you can prove which pups belong to which male

Dual sired litters are pretty common. The AKC allows your to breed a female to two sires and dna test each pup before registering them :).

If it's possible in humans, it's possible in any other mammal.
