The post was simply put up for the debate. Go over to PBC and look how the debate turned and twisted there. If you don't want to debate, let us alone, we're having a little fun, keep your opinions about the debate to yourself. If you want to debate, by all means hop in and chirp in. Sure, it was just a bird. But you know what, it was a child's pet that some drunk ass fool fed to his dog as an act of vengeance. It was an act out of spite. But.......that's not what I was asking, I was asking if you thought if it was cruelty. This story. Not your thoughts on this thread. Not slaughterhouses. No need to fill me in there. I worked in one when I was a kid, my grandfather owned two. I can swing a knife, cut and gut a cow, pig or deer with the best of you. I'm also very aware of what happens in today's slaughter houses. BUT......that's not our debate is it? Our debate is contained within the original post. Reread it and debate it if you can with some semblance of intelligence.

For every dollar donated to a non profit group, on average, a penny or less is the amount donated to animal welfare groups. Ninety-nine cents and more is the average for human welfare groups, both national and international.

    Noted and agreed!

What about the amount of money spent on the families of those incarcerated?

The lost time, the introduction of another citizen forced to be an unproductive citizen and not paying taxes and costing the states. And not just for the time incarcerated but for the rest of their life their earning potential is capped. For not hurting in anyway another citizen.

After debating the topic with 3MTA3.

I admit that I am convinced and I do believe the guy was spiteful and cruel. However, I don't think what he did should be illegal. I also don't believe finding what he did illegal has any legitimacy or benefit.

The thing is that most times all the stories the news reports are only half or one side of the story because reporters just want to write what will catch peoples attention and make headlines/ratings and its not there job to prove em innocent or guilty or right or wrong. We do not know all the facts of what happened so we can only speculate.

To me IMO it sounds like the typical I promise to take care of my pets if you buy them for me scenario. It seems to me that the man was trying to disipline his kid by getting rid of the bird. If the man wasnt drunk Im sure he could of done it in a better way and gotten rid of the bird when the kid was not present BUT getting rid of your pet is getting rid of your pet, it shouldnt matter how you deciede to get rid of your pet.
