I was just looking for a little guide on using a carpet mill during conditioning for adba show. Currently we using flirt pole, and using running down frisbee's at 50 to 75 yards. I have just started introducing the carpet mill slowly. Just would like some pointers on do's and dont's using the carpet. Also when to feed and not to. We are feeding orijen 6 fish 2 cups a day once in the morning and once in the evening.

The dog will dictate his work schedule. You will not "burn his kidneys up" let the dog run the cmill till you notice it's performance drop substantially then take him off.

Try not to be taken in by the oft parroted rhetoric that a slat mill is for wind and a carpet mill is for strength. A mill is a mill and what counts is how precision and easy running or not that it is.

I've had and used many carpet mills that were very easy turning and if you have one, make sure you know how to keep the juke back slick and clean. I've seen slats that were tough to turn as well.

Determine things by the mill itself and how it performs. Good luck.
