can't win

    i've ran out of the kibble i feed my dogs so went to the store to get some, but they were out of stock. I ended up buying a generic brand for the time being. to make a long story short i finally got what i feed so i decided to donate it to a shelter nearby and they were like what kind of food is that so i told them, they were like oh no sorry we dont feed that kind of food. i was speechless so i took my shit and went back home. just because the food did not have a name brand on it shelters dont feed it, what a big pile of bullcrap

    I don't know what kind of shelter you went to but I used to work for a non-profit, no-kill privately funded shelter and they only fed pedigree dog food. They would take donations and give it to people that came there seeking help for their dogs. They kind of stuck to the pedigree so they didn't have stomach upsets from swapping foods. With them, it wasn't personal, they took it and gave it to the needy. They just didn't want upset stomachs at their kennel.

    they ar stupid and they r saying that how low the shelter buget is and hear u come in with a bag of dog food that you didnt need trying to help them but dont feed that kind but if someone gave me a bad of dog food i would of taken it

    im unsure but i think i read the villalobos rescue centre would only accept pedigree kible as well, you would of thought they would be more gratefull and take a bag of food that would probably feed a dog for a month.

    So its basicly PLEASE HELP but money only ? alot of these shelters do great work but it buggers me how they work at times .

    I see the upset stomach thing and I always to this is to consideration BUT if you mix small protions of the new feed int the one the dogs are used to it woun't be a problem and they will be saving money. 70-30 kind of thing.
    If you are broke you need to use your fuckin head some more you you wont be broke. They should have just taken it and said thank you for careing.
