Cajun Kennels Pup prices: A clue for everyone

Good luck getting a garuntee like that with a $500 pup. With a dog worth a damn anyway.

 

Well a lot of honest dogman will give you a guarantee on your dog or a new pup back if it doesn't meet your expectations. In all seriousness though, an honest dogman stands by his stock and if the dog isn't up to par, I think he should do his best to make it right.

 

all free bar two one for 100 and the other for a carton of beer, but all came from the same guy and i was on his yard more than mine , many beers were shared and time spent with his dogs, so i guess he didnt care if they turned out awesome he allways knew he could ask me to bree/stud ect and itl be worked out between us.

i will say i would pay upto 500 for a dog off the same fella if i had too because i trust him. shame i dont know him anymore!

500 aus, would work out to about 800 us depending on our aus dollar

Fb charged 6-900 for a pup,my friend paid 1k for one off reno

the only thing a dogman can "guarantee" is the pup will be healthy & have no physical defects. anything else would have me feeling suspect of the fella making the "guarantee". human era is a big factor in dogs that fail so a breeder can't guarantee that won't happen. go ahead try to bring back a banged up charge that couldn't make there way out of a "catch pen" & let me know how well that works out for ya.

 

Not all guarantee's are kept it's mostly a sales pitch to newbies and they know they will be emotionally attached to the dog by the time the dog is mature enough to show it's no good.
Standing behind your stock does not mean promising anything it means giving support and educating the buyer on what to expect from there bloodline.

Only real reason to replace a dog is if it's sick or something wrong with it genetically. Every pup is a risk and if the buyer is not willing to take a risk on a dog and looking for a guarantee then they have alot to learn before getting into any working breed. Gameness is a trait that can't be guaranteed in a dog especially a pup.

 

An old breeder once told me he stopped giving guarantees because in most cases it was guaranteed death sentence for the dog.

 

i know a fella that bought a young prospect with a "guarantee". it turned out to be a shiteater so he took it back. the only thing he got was a blast of rock salt in his ass.

 

thats funny as hell bb.

one thing i know if someone shoots me with anything, they better be ready when i come back cos there aint gonna be any rock salt in my shells!

 

thats right I got a couple off him awhile back and I wish they were $500........
