Last week I spent 20 something bucks on a bed for my gyps cage that she sleeps in at night. She destroys every blanket I put in there by tearing hole after hole in it.I thought I was smart so I sprayed the entire bed with a bitter spray I purchased and let the bed dry all day before giving it to her at night. She destroyed and ripped the bed up that night! Money wasted. Anyone know of any GOOD STRONG bitter sprays?

I've never found one. I just replace ripped up blankets with more they rip up. Maybe try a horse stall mat cut to fit? I've never solved this issue myself so I'd be interested in answers too.

What kills me is they have an abundance of chew toys of different textures and styles, and I make sure she has one in the cage at all times yet she still insists on destroying the things that allow her to sleep in comfort.

Looked up some horse stall mats and they are not too pricey.I'll order one and see how that works out.I don't think any of these so called tough anti chew beds can stand up to the jaws of a determined APBT. I had one that lasted a little while until my male penetrated the outside and tore out all of the stuffing.

Bitter Apple is about the best one out there.

I hold the dogs mouth open and give him a squirt in the mouth and then hold his mouth shut forcing him to taste the horrible shit for a few seconds.

Then I mist whatever I do not want him to chew. Over the years it has worked for me.

You can even dilute in down and mist spray some furniture as some dogs really like the end of the couch or arm of a chair. Their keen sense of smell will pick it up and once diluted you nor I will ever know any difference.

But yes, they will chew and destroy any and every thing if they choose to do so, regardless of what other items are provided.

Not just bulldogs, but all dogs.

Do it outside as most will hack and sit like you put battery acid in their mouth. Then the slightest hint of that smell and they will avoid it like we would the plague.

I have used it forever and I have yet ot have a dog trash something it was sprayed on.
