So my boy was in pain one day after playin frisbee. He swelled up a bunch under his chin, and some penisilun knocked it down. But the swelling came back, never fully went away. So i took him to the vet and they told me they found a piece of grass in his throat, and he had a cone on his head and a straw to drain it. Looked very sloppy i might add to that. This is probably the most popular vet that everyone in my town goes to. Well swelling comes back, never goes away. So we take him in for a third time and they try to fuck us out of more money, which they've already done twice. So when i was at work, my women took him to a much better person and found that ^ in his throat. He came out with no straw stickin out of his neck and no cone, but the work seemed a whole lot cleaner, and the price was actually a little better. Just got me pretty pissed off and cost me an extra 350 dollars. Just thought id share this story, maybe people are more careful now with vets. Some of em just aint about the animals it seems like.

Well I'm glad you got it taken care of. SOME vets are real p.o.s. but just to right it's not good to give your dog a single dose of antibody. Btw glad your hound is taken care of. Now you know not to go back to that vet!

educate yourself, online, books, and other veteran dogpeople, find a good vet, make him explain everything, write it down(ALWAYS), keep what you learn. Try and find ONE vet you trust and stick with him/her. You will find that when you build a little relation to him/her they will open up and help you. especially if they know you are a good owner. And always ask for some extra antibiotics for your other dogs when you get some for one that is sick. Many times they will sell you enough for all your dogs, or atleast some for other emergencys. peace, suicide
