As far as whether Pepe's sire is Hammer or Lucky 2 I couldn't tell you but regardless the brindle can definitely come from his Dam Miss Arizona seeing as her pedigree is loaded with whole of brindle dogs and dogs who although aren't brindle themselves produced brindle dogs fairly regularly. In her 2nd to 4th generation alone you got sweet pea in the 2nd, 3rd & 4th generation who black himself but produced brindle dogs. Ripper(Sweet Pea's Dam) in the 3rd & 4th who was brindle ands produced brindle dogs along with her Dam Bolero who was also brindle and produced brindle who regardless if she died 30 years ago the percentage of her daughter Ripper in Miss Arizona is only slightly less than a grand parent. Then there's the Chinaman stuff in her coming down from Mojo Rising who was also a brindle dog. I have no idea if Hammer is Pepe's sire but if not there was still a high probability of Pepe being brindle
