Any info?

I've heard of them, seen a few pics of them, was told they are something like a bulldog in a smaller shell, but I don't know much about them. Can anybody give any info?

 

i got one havn't got a chance to take her out yet.they are earth dogs that dig to their prey and holy hell it's on and poppin.no guns needed these dogs are game and scrappy as hell and kill prey once out of the hole.my bitch is 13 pounds.

 

How are they with other dogs?

 

they just have their mind on varmits when they are out

if you wish to know what is a patterdale ....come off this forum and seek the knowledge of REAL working terrier men...find out what they have to say on these dogs
dont buy into the FANTASY world of POCKET PITS.......how long till someone in the good ol U.S. of A , sticks " AMERICAN " on the front of patterdale terrier,...declares a new breed,.....states how they have been perfected in the good ol U.S.of A.....disputes the origin of these dogs before the americas....declares their strain to be the PUREST of the PURE.....and makes a killing selling BULLSHIT, to the GULLIBLE.......its only a matter of time..lol

 

i see what you mean tigerlines..could happen yet...lol....the way i take it about patterdales.....and ive never owned one mind.....is a bit like the pitts.....to better your chance at getting a REAL decent patterdale your better off to buy from a man who works them.....

 

as an after thought.....my friend lost one of his down a hole last year.....he told me there must have been quarry in it for his bitch to have gone straight in.....sadly she never came out again....whether she got stuck or just met a badger,im not sure,and neither is he......but it is a problem to be had when dealing with hunting terriers.....he couldnt dig down either as he was on private land with no permission....he was visiting that hole every day for a week....and there was no signs the dog ever left the hole....

 

hey there i have a pure nuttalls bitch and a gould bred bitch which has just been mated with a pure nuttalls male hoping to have some good workers in the litter. they are gutsy little dogs. time will tell

 

I had a Patterdale pup in one of the classes I was teaching, tough little guy, not scared of a thing and beautiful. I hope they don't catch on and start getting bred to be wide and blue.

 

You and me both mags... I'm going to start researching them, maybe get a few.

 

Figures, you and I have the exact same taste in lines and now breeds. I've been researching Pats a lot since I met this pup. I was surprised the owners enrolled him in puppy socialization since he was going to be a working farm ratting dog but good for them.

wouldnt call em little bulldogs. just tough little working terriers. although "little" might be a dying description, they've been getting bred bigger and bigger. crossing with staffs and apbts.

they are very high energy dogs though and must be worked or you will have a terror on your hands. this goes for all working terriers borders, jrt's, etc...

honestly if i was going to get serious in digging, bushing, etc... I wouldn't mind working a nice beddy or beddy x

EDIT: oh and just a sidebar... when the hell did we get a patterdale section??
