ADBA-Odessa, TX Shows

So after taking a year off from travelling to shows due to surgery, we will be travelling from Canada with our girls to the shows next weekend in TX. Anyone else here going to be there?

 

Well, since I don't have a car to get there and its about 400 miles away, I doubt I'll be able to. I know a 6 hour drive seems like nothing to you, coming from Canada lol, but it is quite a long trip for me.

I'd love to go though! I really need to start going to shows to meet people. If there are quite a few people from here that are going, I may have to find a way to go.

For Oldtimer, It's the 31st of Mar & the 1st of April in Odess Texas at the West Texas Horse Arena.

No we weren't in Cleburne, we were in California that weekend. Took 2 - 2nd place in C of C
Boogie, how do I know who you are LOL! We will be camped at the show site with a red Ford Excursion and a white trailer.

 

is it the west Texas horse center?thats all that is in Odessa.i don't think i can make it myself but my nephew is going to try.so i just want to make sure on the location.if i can make it we will both be there though.also how much is it to go in or have you heard yet?

 

i met some really great people from canada at the cleburne show and i thought it might have been you....lol we did really well in texas. bronson took 2 first, 2nd, and 3rd. lizzy took a 2nd. i will be in friday sometime but not camping. i'll be there saturday mroning early to set up. will have 3 with me. you are showing i guess since you were in c of c.

well it is at the west texas horse center.called and found out all about it.starts at 8 in the morning.i am going to the sunday show myself since i got me some extra time going to take my nephew along with me.so who else is going to the shindig?

 

I live in Dallas and thats too long of a drive for me.

 

My wife and I will have Sam there chasing points :-)

I live in Florida and I'll be there! This will be our third year. Love this show, it's always a good one.

 

cya there! did you see the person in dallas that says it's too far for them to drive...lol not making fun joe it's just i'm in missouri and if you knew how far we was drivin' you'd think we was crazy right blaizen!

 

That was kind of my point, Boogie, I saw he was from Dallas and made the comment it was too far for him to make it. So I wanted to let him know that us dedicated (some call us crazy) show people drive for 24 hours and love it! Even with high gas prices and all, we'll be there with a smile on our face!!!!!!

Hope we see a lot of our old friends and as always meet some great new friends. Look us up!

 

i haven't been to one in Odessa yet.what events do they have as a rule,and did you hear whats going to be going on on what day?

 

It's not that I wouldn't love to be there. I have traveled every where in this country for something. I have been to 47 states throughout my childhood, so I know exactly how far it is to everywhere in this country. Not tryin to sound like im talkin sh*t. The only reason it is too far for me now is cause i have been pullin like 75 hour weeks at work everyweek, so when my weekends come all i wanna do is lay around with the dogs. My g/f spends all her time wearing them out so when i get home I don't have to spend any energy i have left on the dogs, and she can get some of it.

 

Hey, I completely understand how it is when you put in long hours. Time off is for resting and relaxation for sure. My husband and I try to hit a few shows in the spring before it gets too hot, and that's what we call our "vacations". LOL Anyway, maybe you can make the next show.

For the guy asking about what shows they have in Odessa:
It's four conformation point shows, two each day, and a Champion of Champion each day. No fun classes or weight pulls. This show always draws some good dogs.

 

I would love to go. Still a little early for me to tell though.

 

well i am looking forward to that.do i need to bring my own chairs?i know at the others i have been to i have had to but the lady i talked to at the place couldn't tell me.so since you have been before i figured you would know.
