hello all. got a new apbt male 4.5 months old and 29lb. i've always fed purina puppy chow so thats what i bought for him. he seem to be doing well on it as he's gaind 1.5lb in 2 weeks since i got him but i'm always up for suggestions on something better for him. his stools are fairly firm especially the first couple turds he drops then it gets a little less firm as he keeps pushing out ha. i've never seen a pup crap for as long and get as much out as he does. anywho,i've done a lil research on this subject since joining the site and came up with a few possibilities. diamond natural all life stages chicken and rice formula, diamond purple bag puppy food or victor professional purple bag that all ages too. what have y'all had good luck with asnd since i've only the 1 bulldog i don't mind paying the $40 for 40lb asking price at tractor supply. he looks healthy and coat slick black right now.
    thanks,
    Big Ed

They’re all fairly close in my opinion. The more raw you can go- the better. I’ve tried everything as far as dry foods are concerned. Nothing really stands out in my mind. The easiest and most accessible to me is chicken gizzards/hearts so I supplement with that a few times a week. If they go super hard- they’ll only get raw. It’s literally like catnip. They just seem happier, more energetic, and there is virtually ZERO clean up. Mostly because with raw your dogs body will pull all the useful nutrients and pass very little. With ALL kibble I’ve ever used they take massive shits(filler). Just my opinion
