IS There any BSL In Phoenix?

Discussion in 'Laws & Legislation' started by B_And_Bubba, Feb 25, 2006.

  1. I got my APBT while I was stationed at FortBliss, and the Army put out BSL. Any dog that had a bad rep was banned from post. SO I put in the paperwork, and moved off post. BUt since then I was medically retired, and moved back here to Az. I am not sure if there are any laws saying I cant have my buddy, but would sure like to know for sure.

When I lived in Phx.(02-03), I never knew of any BSL. I don't believe any has been put into effect since then either. I do know Show Low has/or was looking into BSL. A good way to find out, call Maricopa County Animal Services and ask anonymously.

  4. If you want to keep up with BSL, visit America Against BSL. Get involved, become a member, join the mailing list. Updated articles sent through Yahoo Groups. Archived Newsletters to be posted for February.

They do have a page of Current BSL. Although there is a lot of Unconfirmed BSL, that means that there is suspected/rumored BSL in effect or in the works. They are all working hard on updating this page, and if you find out that there is confirmed yes/no BSL, please let them know and help everyone out.

  7. Thank you very much everybody. I am going to look into AABSL. I think that it is horrible that they are punishing such a great breed because people don't know how to take care of their dogs, or abuse them to the point of ahhh I don't like getting started on that. Anyways Thank you.

    just found this one:

ARIZONA – Rep. Lujan’s H2447 will expand the dangerous dog law to include injury of a domestic pet in the definition of a vicious dog and to require that dangerous dogs be sterilized and microchipped. The bill has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee.

    good post! LOVE this site!:)

  10. HEy Suki! I checked out AABSL.com. I Like the page alot. I don't think any body should have to give up their dog simply because of what kind of dog it is. MY good friend lives in Denver, and she had to give up her year old APBT. And I could never give mine up he is family to me. SO I would like to do anything I can to help keep BSL down, if not get rid of it. The site didn't say anything about Az, but I will look around. Where did you find the info about az at? Well I gotta get going. Time to go for a walk with Bubba.
