Every now and then the dog will develop an allergy to something but the most of the time when it comes in later in life it is a change in his environment. Food, bedding, shampoos, your detergents, it can be just about anything. A lot of times a combination of things.

The diet was the first best move as that is the usual culprit. Dog food companies change things all the times and as long as it falls under whatever guidelines the customer is not informed.

I have an English Bulldog who has a lot of skin issues, and she is fed raw pretty much all the time. Her diet change helped her more than anything.

It is a process of elimination and takes time.

A vet can do a skin scrape and get you in the general direction and sometimes even pinpoint the issue.

No real help but some personal experiences.
