Why would you entertain someone like that? The game is illegal and engaging every fool who challenges you with these other breeds is a quick way to making headline news.
I have always agreed with these idiots when they tell me how their huge dogs will kill my small dog, agreed and walked away. I dont care if they think they have proved their dogs worth through their tough talk, my job is to manage and care for the breed I'm involved with and I wont let words with no merit let me engage them. I've seen in my early years how some of my old friends had to answer to police enquiries after letting these people goad them into a scrap between their apbt and the other person's boerboel or rottweiler. After their cur is hurt they quickly blame the apbt owner. So I always chose to rather leave them feeling smug by agreeing that their boerboel, rottweiler or other huge breed is the ultimate fighter.
And which serious dogmen will engage in a match against a mastiff breed?

It all depends on gameness size have nothing to do with that. All other big dogs from any other breed aren't game as pit bull terriers are.Again Size have no value as it have nothing to do with gameness. Dogs you can't compare to people, the 10 minutes cur dog have more gameness in his left toenail then the strongest man of the block in his whole body. Any other dog big or small Will be slaughtered by a true gamedog and no one with a clear mind want to see that as it is cruelty to animals.

But two good quality game APBT , if one is bigger by just a little , the bigger dog will win 90% of the time

Right, therefore, they should be at the same weight when they face each other.

Equal skill, the bigger man, dog or whatever wins. If you follow mma or any combat sport, you will se they cut a lot of weight. So they can be as big as posibol for the weight class

You are right in that the big dog has a huge advantage just like the bigger guys will beat smaller guys if the skillsets are similar.

Same with dogs. Same with people.

And that is why there are weight classes in both. But that is also where they separate themselves from one another.

The dog will be weighed and released within a few minutes. He will compete at the advertised weight.

His human counterpart will cut a shit load of water, make weight and then have the chance to rehydrate then compete some 24 hours later.

In the UFC, back when I was a big fan, one of the most anticipated fights ever was GSP and BJ Penn. Penn's body left him in the middle. if he cut down a class he got big dogged but he needed two extra cheeseburgers to make 170. At the time I think, other than Matt Hughes, GSP was just about the best at cutting weight. He weighed in at 170 on Friday night and some 28 hours later he was as much as 188. He big dogged BJ Penn, simply smothered him.

I can jog to my pond and back. But I can't jog to my pond and back carrying four bags of dog food the same. That is how being big dogged feels. You have to carry another guy while performing. Dogs no different.

Things can be even for a stretch and the littler opponent may even move out from for a bit but it is only a matter of time.

It is a great topic as long as it stays big bulldogs and little bulldogs and other breeds are not factored in (that is when it gets some what stupid).

It may be the round about way to say, "Never give weight at the show".

Every guy pit side has one at home that pushed 10lbs. stopping a two time winner in a roll. He just never seems to being him to the inside at the show.

Spot on post. Size maters A lot. Even in BJJ (which has lost a lot of its self defense qualities) 20 lbs equals a belt. Every 10 years equals a belt. The idea of a 60 year old grand master weighing 135 lbs and whooping everyone is pure nonsense. I was talking to a kid who couldn't believe that a 220 lb blue belt could hang w/ a 170 lbs black belt. I told him "dude, don't believe that Gracie marketing". Size is even more important in striking. You just don't want to stand and trade with a bigger dude (or gal...my fav fighters now are women).

I am far from an experienced dogman, but I have had plenty of accidents and when I was new had 2 dogs (a mother son pairing) and was too dumb to always have a breaking stick, so I saw them go a bit. I lived in the Ghetto back then so the authorities never came. Even in that short time you could see that 10 lbs made a huge difference. Call me stupid but I don't think 2 dogs w/ a 10 pound difference, all things being equal, would go 20 minutes. It makes sense that there is a forfeit that must be paid if a dog doesn't make weight.

Oh, no...of course you are right. Not only would it be stupid, I would get in a shit ton of trouble. And you are right. I was at the car wash with he guy bragging about how his Mastif would kill any Pit Bull. And in fact I said nothing and nodded my head. I knew employees at he car wash, my dogs already had a yard accident once. When they were pups before they got too hot I would let hem play, and even then my neighbors reported me for running a dog fighting ring, lol. Once they reached a certain age they could never be around each other and I would absolutely not risk any sort of problem whatsoever. It was crate and rotate always.
