I noticed they had Maggie behind them too mate ... same as harry .... that buzz what i had was bred to produce him , all proven stock behind him and j said he was a good little dog himself .... i’d never seen a pedigree like his with that many tested stuff behind him

 

@oldguy you will have seen tania did you mate ? What was she like as ive never even seen a picture of her ... some producer though !

 

Tania was a brindle female with slightly undershot jaw, I saw type and traits in her that I believed related to Buzzz bred dogs, but could easily have been wrong on that.. I saw her schooled (video) saw her with first & second litters of Scotsman's Max pups, I saw her lose in 23 mins against Gunning's Dutchess (CH.Bash dam) I saw her bred to CH.Bash and whelp pups and I sometimes slept beside Tania in a VW Camper van when I was drunk and couldn't make it back home.. She was just a lovely female and like yoou already said.. One of top producers ever in UK.

 

I seen both Ch"Ralph" and "JackyBoy" , and "Ralph2 was a far better dog , I bought "JackyBoy" for 50 euros after a roll, and I sold him to Southend who bred Gr Ch "Barney"... "JackyBoy" was a good looking dog , game acting dog with little ability ,, but "Barney" was more like "Ralph" only with harder mouth

I got him from Daffy , he started at 200 , but as I was leaving he said 50 , I said put him in the car , I think he just wanted rid of him ...

I can't speak for Ricky's side of story, but sometimes you find one person's bad luck turns out to be someone else's good luck.. A dpgman relocated up north and brought some well bred dogs with him, they got looked at and selected, some better than others, but one of the ones that was kept was Stripe aka Jackyboy, a few northern dogmen were involved in selection and when Stripe's owner chose to head back down south, he gave Stripe to my friend. Whether he was a pup or grown dog when my friend, got him I can't remember now, but I'm inclined to believe he was young since if he'd got looked at and as bad as Ricky said, then he wouldn't have made it passed selection.

We were aware Stripe's dam was litter sister to Solo kennels Violet and wanted to cross that blood into the Reid/Scar we had, so we asked the guy for Stripe, but he'd already promised to send him to Ireland so that ship sailed.

Funny story.. My pal did the Thai x Doris breeding and a lot of interest in pups from people, Southend Kennels was interested in Reid dogs and offered my pal some pups from a recent litter he bred by Stripe aka Jackyboy x Ruby.. My pal said pick me out a brindle w/white and I'll send you one the same.. Southend Kennel told him I've got the very one for you right here, but then my pal found out Southend's litter had Stafford in them and told him to forget it.. So what brindle with white pup do you suppose Southend Kennels intended sending to my old pal?

Mind Ralph and jackyboy look like they threw to maggies side in looks ? Buzz was black and j stuff was mainly red

 

Jacky Boy,, he was average at best , good wind acted game , but lacked mouth , later seen Ralph and he was a more power house , and good mouth , I sold a new comer a good young dog and later he met JackyBoy, and what ever the new comer did the dog was shit on the day , and Jackyboy won ,,

Think there was 6 in the Jacky x Ruby litter off the top of my head.. Southend kept all of them and we went through them.. All males were nearly identical in weight and barney was best...was a red male that looked like oddbods stuff.. Was a ringer for barrera... 2 brindle males.. 2 red and white bitches and a brindle bitch that looked like a male

 

Was buzz aka little legs only put to ralph ‘s mother and a kemmer bitch ?

 

Don’t think Ralph was tried till he was over 5. His first if memory serves me right, he was well past 6 and last I’m told was at 9 yrs of age.

 

Why do they, because they’re brindle? They look typical of some of the dogs down from the Montana/Swamper dogs. Never yet see a Reid dog work like Ralph.
