An in depth study was done a few years back and the APBT rated in the top 3 for temperament. While some of these aggressive dogs may have been products of bad genes I'd bet the farm the majority are owner error and lack of proper socialization.

I had a little male inbred of that lady chabllis stuff he was only around 32ibs.
A lovely well put together male bought up around kids and family.
The dog one day tried to nip the owner and the lad freaked out and I ended up with him.
He was in a kennel run one day I had only had him a week, my young daughter come out into the yard and this little fucker tried ripping the kennel door of to get out.
I thought at first he was excited and wanted to play but I watched him for 5 mins and thought this ain't NO wanting to play behaviour.
So the next day I went to the dog he was fine with me no probs , I called my daughter out and she come out and this little fukin dog just seen her and became possessed he just wanted to get her well the rest was history game over.

Not really Chablis breeding as she’s only 25% of the dogs ancestry.

Not to sure of that as I see a couple of Benji that would bite, both were shall we say encouraged to be like that. The only pure Boyles dog I know of that would bite was Buckethead, brother to Pixie, which seemed a normal friendly gyp the times I saw her.

Sometimes it’s a change of surroundings or environment that can flip a dog. A mate asked me to look after a 3/4 Boyles dog of his and the fecker just stayed in his crate entire the 36hrs he was here. If I tried to reach in a get him out to let him out or feed him, he’d just growl and bare his teeth warning me off. When my mate came and collected him, he straight away reverted back to the happy go lucky dog he always was.

I just sent one to Michigan last month that did a similar thing. I don't equate it to human aggression though it's more like the dog didn't understand what was happening and acted out. The transporter got bit pretty good. She almost bit me too when I put her in the crate for him which is something she never did before. She was a very sweet loving type bitch until you tried to put her in a van, she'd never been in a car or even off my yard before. He also had 7 other dogs in the van. Fear and confusion will make a dog act out of character.

Sometimes you just get a " one man dog ".

I wouldn’t call it human aggression either. Just a dog that was overly stressed. Lad brought him to me and he went in & out the crate fine, run about without a care in the world. Soon as my mate went home, he changed and did again when he came back and collected him.

I find this with mine fairly often. Especially the females though I've also had a few males here like that as well. Puro Odio is like that, his son Maximus is also that way.. Charlie is too. All are very leary and stand offish with people they don't know. It's even worse if I'm around and with Charlie very few can approach my daughter with him in the room.

I also do not socialize my dogs with people as I am very private with them and I'm a loner by nature so they don't meet very many people.

If someone even looked at me sideways when Lil Miss Geach R.I.P. was around, she'd totally let you know she'll fuck you up. She was as possessive of me as Charlie is with my daughter.

We have dogs in our training group that see bite sleeves as obstacles to bypass in order to strike the decoy wearing it. And others that knowingly would probe the bite suit in search of an exposed hand or other body part under less layers of fabric. Other dogs have come up the leash and tagged the handler for a harsh correction or simply bc they just have to bite something when agitated. Such dogs have a place, certainly not for most. We've all been bit at some point whether intentionally or unintentionally. Know your dog, the triggers, and what you’re willing to tolerate. Never the dogs fault, always the owner/handler’s responsibility.

I have one that everyone can play with when his on his chain set up or even on his leash. But if you put him on the leash and take him off yhe yard you must walk him for at least 15min without stopping. Had him jump up and nip me a few times on my arms with just his front teeth when , as I left the yard I was called by the wife and stopped to hear what she wanted. Once on the walk after about 15mins I can stop and talk to anyone and his 100% calm and friendly.
He can run around the yard off the chain as well with no issues with any dog but remove his collar and his a different dog. His very aloof and I get the impression that he believes his my superior , mentally, and maybe he is. From young when others would flirt he showed no interest and even if I used meat at the end of a rope to get him to jump he will look at me with a look that says I'm not stupid.
His a great dog around any animal or person but remove his collar and any dog in front of him is a target. Just dont stand and talk to anyone in the first 15min of his walk and he will nip you painfully on your hands.
