    Sorry about that Dusty:))
I don't think anyone on this thread knows me and that's not a bad thing really cos we live in crazy times. I think I know who you are though but it's only a guess. If I'm right on who I think you are then you used to post me a magazine a few years back and I think it would of been to either a Bedfordshire or Hertfordshire address I had at the time but I could be completely wrong. I think if it's you then you sold or gifted a famous little bitch to a chap I know in north London that geezer has a fancy sounding south American sir name he's a good dog man. If I'm guessing who you are correctly then you come from the same part of the world as Terry T who had a good little staff a long time ago. I only met Terry T once but we kept in touch for a few years. You probably won't know who I am because I kept myself to myself most of the time and I have never raced a dog in a proper contract show.
I'm not on any other dog forum and I'm only on here now cos I'm bord shitless on lockdown. I only ever raced my dogs otc and I'm quite happy with that. I have never wanted people to know my business and as long as I was happy with my dogs then that's all I cared about. If you are the chap I think you are Dusty then you are living legend and it's almost surreal talking with you and if you're not that man then I'm sorry for assuming things. As they say assumption is the mother of all fuckups :))

That's true everything you say and it's true almost everyone I know got dun and locked up. But they were were doing a hell of a lot more than I ever did and they had a hell of a lot more dog's than I had. They were not careful and I was. They wanted the world to know when they had a good dog and can't blame them but I really didn't care and still don't really care what people think about my dogs. I just wanted to know for myself. At the time odd bod and the Asian got caught not that I really had that much to do with them I was the only one as far as I know who was running on false plates on vehicle not registered to me or any address where I could be caught. I was the only one as far as I know with a phone not registered anywhere and only topped up with cash in places with no CCTV. I was the only one with the location turned off on my phone.
I had to be careful and cover my tracks else I would of got caught for a lot more than just messing about with these dogs. You are right to be suspicious and that's fine with me. I can drop a few more names if you want but I think they have all been nicked at some point or are dead. Even if you knew me back in the early 80s when I first was around these dog's you wouldn't know me now because I've changed my identity about 7 times at least. Like I say I have been very careful and that's not to say that I won't get caught tomorrow. I'm being careful right now I'm using an untraceable phone with the location turned off never being used on wifi never going on using anything that has an IP address. I've always been careful I don't need to be pally with big names. I lived in the right part of the country I could of wormed my way in with one of the big kennels but I didn't want to. I love the dogs not the dog men. I once see that big chap d w from e e kennels stuffing the big Stratton book into his coat when in Ed Reid's place. A chap I knew had a litter sister to my Skipper Beauty dog and went to see them at e e kennels to give his bitch an otc race and he couldn't understand why his bitch was struggling until he realised that one of them big lumps standing on his dogs ear! :|:)) why'd I need to be getting involved with that sort of daft stuff. No I don't blame you for being suspicious mate and but I'm not out to do you any harm. It's the dogs I'm interested in and best regards to you Dusty whoever you are.

This post is about reid's crosses so hopefully it's ok for me to mention how well the reid's dog's crossed when put to greyhounds. I know this is a bulldog forum but I think this needs mentioning. For the people who don't know anything about the bull greyhounds then let me tell you that you are generally dealing with rank curs when it comes to greyhounds. Greyhounds are fast and athletic but generally when it comes to taking knocks and punishment they are nesh. For me the whole idea of the cross was to put some speed to the pitbull not to put toughness to the greyhound. The pitbull is a pretty useful hunting dog especially if it's an athletic fast reid's dog all you need is just a little bit more speed. I would always pick the bullest looking pups for my dogs. Now obviously with this cross you just can't expect true deep gameness in the offspring surely not. Well? one or two of these dog's were surprisingly game on pretty tough quarry witch just shows how pre potent the pitbull blood was that we were using. It's hard enough getting game dogs when you breed bulldog to bulldog but bulldog to another breed is pushing your luck. These lurchers cos technically thats what they were. They weren't doing the business because they were ahead and winning they were sometimes in impossible situations that they had no chance of coming out on top being overpowered by bigger stronger adversaries and yet still never showing any signs of quitting. They certainly didn't get that from the greyhound no they got it from the tightly bred reid's stud dog we used. Another one of these dogs I used for catching large deer. This was before the hunting ban in the UK and on my families land with permission and done in daylight hours so totally legal. Now this particular dog was down from the Reid's Skipper and Lady stuff crossed with a greyhound. Although half greyhound he had traits of the kingfish Skipper stuff. He really had the intelligence and attitude but also he was catching these deer anywhere not following them and grabbing them when they slow down to negotiate a fence or road as most dogs tend to do but running them down in big open fields. He would hunt up in thick cover exactly like the pitbulls do but when he drove them out into the open he was fast enough to course and catch them. He also had this wonderful way once he caught one he would get it down and then he would always change holds and grip the deer on the back ankle or foot. He would hold on for grim death and not let go and everytime the animal got up he would reverse in a circling motion and pull the deer off balance and down again. He did this until I got there and by doing this he didn't damage the meat. All these qualities came from the reid's blood in his veins.

The size of the picture is most likely the issue. Pictures taken with cell phones are huge files. Can resize the photos using the link stickler poster or www.resizepic.com

Well I managed to post it now lets see if you can view it :-S
This is the deer hunting dog I was talking about. Half pitbull half greyhound. Bad quality picture of a great dog. His temperament was bullet proof with people and other dogs he could be left in a vehicle with other lurchers and terriers no problem but he was a bastard with farm livestock :-?
He had a really gentle way about him whilst indoors or inside a vehicle. He was a big 75 lbs dog but he made himself very small sometimes. He was never clumsy and never knocked you beer over or scrounge for food.
His last outing he pulled down a massive fallow deer and while my friend and I was grappling with the beast he run off after another one and I could see he was really struggling to run. He was gone for ages and when he finally returned we realised he had broken his front leg in three different places. It was a mess and god knows how he managed to run like that. RIP.

I have no idea why it posted twice I'm finding this to complicated lol
Anyway this is Pie. He is one of the first really good reid's blood bull greyhounds in the UK. He came from Wigan. He was an awesome dog and you can't see from the pictures but he had that fire in his eyes. There's a whole line of working dogs bred down from him and the good ones will fight jaw to jaw with their quarry to the bitter end. He was bred to a greyhound producing pups that were three quarters greyhound and one quarter bull and then he was later bred back to the best daughter from these producing a litter of three eighth five eighth pups and I had the biggest bullyest male pup from that litter.
I will try to upload a picture of my double bred Pie dog.
