Those are gonna be nice looking birds never had much success with incubators something with the humidity and plus I used the cheapest one I could find ,but when I kept American birds they were mclean hatch's an regular grey nice birds tasted great too

This one has a humidity monitor, so hopefully that won't be an issue, but I know there are a lot of factors of 'what ifs'.

  13. I raise Bresse and Black Marans, I incubat my own eggs for hatching I keep my humidity at 40/45 temperature between 99.5 and 100 if your getting shipped eggs I'd let them set out pointy end down for 24 hours them in your incubator don't turn on your egg turner for 24 hours...

  14. During lockdown three days before they hatch raise humidity 65-70%

theres not much too it really, incubators are ok but you cant beat a good clocking hen , i keep a few cream leg bars, marans and buff sussex, just nice to have a few running about the place and i like the different coloured eggs.

I raise game birds also and have minor blues make sure you let them set at least a day before putting them in incubator but get it running now to make sure you have the right temperature set I set mine at 100 degrees do you have a turner in it

The eggs came early and are now in the incubator. We don't have an egg turner, just turning by hand.

Yes, do not turn them for 20-24 hours. You can roll/turn them by hand after that. Tractor Supply sells a 24 egg turner for way cheap.

I built my incubator with a light bulb, bowl of water and wafer plate to regulate the temperature. Last year I hatched 23 of 24 eggs in one setting. Thought I had it down. The next setting was 20. I raised one rooster out of 19 eggs. Wafer plate stuck and backed them at about 105-110 the last 24 hours.

    But so it goes.

Game hens out of greys and hatches. The rooster is out of a rooster called Big Red. Big fast beautiful red birds with a ticking on their chest. Gorgeous. Hens are all over the place.

We were surprised at how cheap the incubator was...a styrofoam box?! Eggs are in there at 60% humidity and 100 degrees
