Thanks Bamaman I like the studies...
    RS,,, more great shares...
You see those dogs with children and wonder what happened inbetween that and Earls wife Flo having to beat them of with a hammer...

Alot of different color dogs from the Henry family and yet Tudor sought the dark ones and had terrible man eaters in those...
I think Earl was looking for the Pit Generals of absolute distruction and I relate those types to also be OFF...

OFF as in that they are straight up killers and the few freaks I am aware of didnt make a name like Zebo and Bullyson
but were very destructive shady dogs that would eat your ass up...

Were Floyds dogs known to be man biters??? I heard of some nasty eli dogs but never heard of Floyds dogs to be man biters,,,
So maybe,,, just maybe Bamaman,,, Floyd sought the black dogs that were more the balanced type as shown in the above pics...

I dont know but wonder why Tudors were nasty and Boudreaux's not so much might contribute to a multitude of things
from the character of those breeding and raising the dogs to what they looked for...

I do relate those dark destructive phenotypes Tudor sought as being bred down from the dogs of war in the brittish isles...

Interesting opinion by Stratton on The Henry Lines being Extinct.

"Question: I would very much appreciate any information about the different bloodlines, or any advice on getting American (Pit) Bull Terrier that is not game.

    Answer:
It is difficult to be of much help here, as for all bloodlines have their good and bad dogs. And the popularity of the strains that are rich in tradition and quality are allowed to become extinct, unfortunately. Such was the fate of the Diamond Dick and Henry bloodlines. Right now, the Corvino line is riding the crest of current popularity. In the next decade, it will probably be some other strain. I know for a fact that some of the advertisers in the Bloodlines produced some great dogs. I can testify to the quality of dogs coming from the strains of Boudreaux, Heinzl, McCaw, and of course, I have my own personal preference for the Wallace and Old Family Red Nose strains. One thing I can guarantee, however, regardless of the strain you select, you will still get plenty of the kind that are not too game!"

Thanks for sharing those photos Robert. Those are some very large yet handsome dogs from over 100 years ago. I am really impressed with the looks of the Buckeye Belle female.
