Have you ever been biten?

Have you ever been bitten by one of your own dogs? If so was it just a nip till it realized what it was doing, or was it meant to harm? I am not talking about puppies here. This has just been on my mind for a little bit.

 

I've been nipped on accident by sticking my hands where they shouldnt of been carelessly. But never been bit by a dog (on my yard or of the APBT breed) because it wanted to bite me.

 

i have been clamped down on a few times. Mostly by an excite biter. One that when they are in the heat of the moment will bite to be released or if you are in the way. Which is another reason why commom sense goes a long way with these dogs. I own a few excite biters, BUT i know how to handle them. That is the key knowing how to handle your dogs. I hate the word human aggression..it gets tossed around like confetti at a party..8 out of 10 dog owners dont know what a true human aggresive dog is. Dogs are put down everyday simply because their owner doesnt know how to handle them or made an error on their part with the dog. I learned very quickly years ago how to handle an excite biter when one put a cutter all the way in my knee, which put me out of commision for weeks. BUT that one dog taught me alot about how to handle this kind of dog and how to be awhere of my body at all times. It was nothing the dog did wrong it was my fault, i was the one who made the mistake. Alot of good dogs are lost to human error.

 

My first yard accident, I was by myself. The two bitches were pups, but allready turnded onl. When I finally wrestled them off eachother, I held one to the ground and kept the other at bay until a friend helped out, but during that...the first time I got them separated, the bigger one lunged back at the one i was holding on the ground . I stuck my fore arm in the way of her bite....i wasn't gonna let them lock up again. She sunk everylast cutter in to my fore arm...immediately realized what she had done, and let go. I still have both girls...and they are my two ALL TIME BEST companions.

 

The only times I have ever been bitten were my own fault. My instances were all "redirects".

I've been biten by countless mutts when I was kid. I was poor alright, living in the dusty el salvador aint no happy life. Dogs running around everywhere, attacking kids and people, no one cared. When I got bit real bad from a lady's rottweiler/sheperd something, I could hardly move for about a month. I climbed a fence to get away and my foot got caught, and I fell back and just hung there while the dog attacked my leg. Not only was I bit, I broke my foot and ever since then I limp slightly and lean on one foot more than the other. Even though it was not right, my brother came back for her dog and killed it with a steel bat. But you know what, that evil lady didnt cry and care, she left his ass in her yard to rott and got a new puppy a few weeks later. (Shudder) I have weird feeling about rottweilers and sheperds. I know their not all like that one that got me as a kid but, I couldnt run, I was hanging like a spring pole off that gate.

I also get bit all the time from my wife's damn chihuahua. Damnit I hate that damn dog I wanna cuss every time he comes after me....

 

I have been bit but not by an APBT, a husky and a dalmation

 

nope, never once.

 

no APBT or staffies have ever bit me. ive had one GSD attack me twice he only got me one good time the second i had something to defend myself with. Had another mutt pull me off my bike when i was younger that hurt like hell he got my ankle and yanked. But never by a bully breed.

 

I got one dog that is a happy nipper but he wouldnt bite me. When i go to his chain spot he gets happy and jumps and hits my hand and trys to lick and nip it but nothing that hurts its kinda funny.

 

I Only Had 1 Manbiter In My Life He Was A Crazy Gamedog That Tryed To Kill Any Men That Walked Up To Him But He Was Sweeter Then A Beagle Around Little Kids , None Of Hes Offsprings Turned Out Manbiters And He Did Produce Real Good . He Showed Me What A True Bulldog Is ! An Amazin Dog !! Rip

 

I would have never known what he could produce, if you show outward aggression to a person that is not a threat.... your GONE. no exceptions, game or not, big or not, blue or not.. whatever your breeding for... human aggression at any level is a no, no for me.
I wonder how may great dogs I have missed out on becuase of that.

As for me I have a great story to tell for each scar on my body lol....

 

made the mistake of going up and blowing in my dogs face...got a split lip...9 times out of ten if you get bit you have it coming.

 

yeah outward human agression is to much of a liability for the dog and me.

 

Diesel I Agree With U But The Thing Was That He Came From A Junkyard And The Way I See It Is Any Dog Can Get Like That When They Aint Been Treated Right Thats Why He Was Bad To Growed Men And Great With Children , Thats Why I Bred Him

Getting bit by a dog is a combination of understimating the dog or overestimating youself.
if you plan for the worse your never surprised when it happens.

I guess thats why i never get bit, becuase I always expect to get bit.
