A Question was asked in one of my apbt groups.

    Who do you breed to?
    The ugly winner?
    Or the pretty looser?

That depends own a few different things. 1st which family of hounds has been shown to complaint the dog I want to have bred? Are both Bulldogs known to be producers ? If so,which hound has something to add that mine is lacking in ? Ect Hard questions to answer with out the information.

I think they meant more would u breed to a dog who came from a solid family but loss..or a scatter bred winner

I also took it would u breed to dog who won but made alot of bad moves etc..or a dog who went into good competition but just didn't have what it take to win that day.idk lol..like u said it could mean alot

I say a win is a win. Some dogs just have a ugly style. A guy I know had a dog that would make bad turns, let go of good holds, do some crazy ass flips and yell out at times. But he would come every time. It wasn't pretty but he came home 3 times. Lost him from a bad unseen infection in his kidneys. I think that he said.

I agree..a few yrs ago I would've took the winner.. but 1 winner can't keep up with a solid family for genrations

Also depends on what we are calling an ugly win, a dog making bad signs during a match but coming across everytime is one thing. But imo when I think ugly win I'm thinking about a match where as it got further along the scratches get slower and it starts to look like the clock is running on how long before it quits. When I think ugly win I'm thinking one cur outlast the other, win I think pretty loss I think a game dog that shows how tough itis even in a loss. The times you go home happy with losing knowing that it was all laid on the line and you still hold your head high

Maybe neither.....or maybe both! Depends on A whole list of variables. No way to answer that with limited information.

Pretty losers for sure. IF a dog does everything right and still loses, he just went in to an ace. Ugly winners might win, but breeding aint about winning or losing. Its about passing down the right traits to create a consistent family of dogs. At the end of the day, IF you want consistency, you cant breed for bad traits. Dogs that turn, scream and Let Go of holds might win to an inferior dog, but when you put Him against a true gamedog the odds Will be against him.

Therefore, i choose traits over wins. Because thats what this topic is about to me...

out of the two dogs bb wants the winner. the point of the box is to find who is the best fighter nothing more. nothing pretty about a loser becuase the background didnt produce the W AND THATS WHAT COUNTS.
