My current Pit Bull life is relatively simple compared to what I put my self into
in my past (I used to bite off more then I could chew)

I ask this of some members if you can offer any view .

I will describe as best I can .

    Here goes
About 6 to 7 years ago I had 2 Pits Male was 90 pounds ( had some mastiff )
female 45 pounds . They did not like cats and would dispatch of them -
so that was there nature .
The female was edgy around other dogs But not like my male
Wile the male was ok with puppies or any dog that was sweet .
& Any dog , male or female , Big or small ,
if even so much as gave a growl towards him was not tolerated
    enough said .
One day they got loose for 90 seconds , at best 120 seconds .
on that day I received a phone call from my neighbor's father in law - like a min or so after I retrieved dogs .
He said your Dogs just riped up Bonny (a 15 year old female hound)
    I go what ?
He says it's a big problem it is gonna cost $1200
I go to the house of situation .
The owner says you lost me as a friend - LEAVE !!!

    Next day
Dog warden tells me of pending multi thousands in dollars of fines
if dogs remain alive . In addition to any vet bill.

Damage control of the event ends with my cooperation .

A week later I get a vet bill for $1200 hmmm I think how did the father in law know the price 2 min after incident

Pictures presented to judge along with letter . The wound picture looked like a perfect razor slice from the left hip area across the back to right hip area
A perfect cut . Like as if opened up like a sardine can . naturally closed with stitches
I did not see any dog teeth puncture wounds

Letter implies wound trimmed and stitched ( I paraphrase as was in DR terms )

    I get a default judgment $1200 .

6 months later 16 year old dog dies of Cancer - Hmmm

    My wonder

First - in 60 seconds can a dog rip open a dog like a can of tuna
i'd think at best puncture wounds ( that were not there BTW )
further more back hip area was the only wound area
Next - father in law knew a price of $1200 a min after situation
Next - Dog dies of cancer

Why after all this time do I feel suspicious
Like I was a part of an agenda
Does my Conspiracy theory sound real

See - I feel dog had cancer & had an operation
my dogs got loose and did indeed visit
home owner got pissed and said i'll fix situation
Phone call from father in law , with a Slip of lip of price .
Vet agrees with letter to fight off the bad Pit bull owner.
6 months later - old dog is dead of cancer

It sucks that you lost your dogs and $1200.00 As far as a conspiracy, I doubt that any vet would put his license or reputation in jeopardy by colluding with your neighbor. At least where I live I don't think it would ever happen. .
This is why it is SO IMPORTANT to keep our dogs from running loose. Even for a minuet or two. The cost is not only your dogs and $$$$ but the negative press from these accidents affects all of the rest of us. I'm not trying to be a asshole but it's the truth.

    No doubt ,
So Life is peaceful once more , I let the past stay only to me.
my kids play with there kids now and Ive seen them pet my dog wile on chain
But it was a long run back to civility .

Wounds can be anything from punctures to tears, and some times the tear looks like a razor blade slice.

Depends on lots of things, even down to the thickness of the other dogs skin.

    Hard to say.

You should of leashed your dog and seen if he returned to the scene of the crime.

    that whole 20/20 thing's a bitch.

It does sound suspicious and it could even be a set up, meaning the dog already had the wound from another situation but the owner could not afford the vet bill so he fabricated this story of your dogs injuring his dog so you could pay for his vet bill. This world is full of despicable people its hard to doubt anything now days.

I always hate to hear such things. Before I moved I had neighbors call AC and fabricate neglect claims. The AC got so tired of coming out to false alarms that they had me fill out a form and released the complainant's information to me. It was my next door neighbor. I asked her son why his mother would do that. He said she hates pitbulls. Not sure if you are dealing with a conspiracy or not but I don't put anything pass haters of our breed.

Not to mention your dogs probably would have stuck around to enjoy their catch and finish the job, not just wound it and jet.

Just realised this occured 7 years ago... live and learn, let it go.

    Well this being said
What will never sit normal is being told price a min or two after I retrieved my dogs.

    As to
did you see the bill and what all it was for ?
Never saw the bill just Pictures and a letter ( hand written )
the whole back area like from hip to rib cage full back was shaved

I live in a small closed nit community ( rural ) , Those who know the judge
are as good as the judge .

the 90 seconds sounds way off indeed,,,
but so does your dog being at the neighbors,,,
you need some kenitodrake 101 and these types
make it harder for responsible owners...

You feel that way because you messed up, and you know you did. Why would you let neighbor kids in your yard to pet your dog on the chain while your not right there? Are you looking for hospital bills as well, maybe make the news with a funeral? RESPONSIBILITY is the key-trying to make excuses after the fact does not much matter..so wait a minute you think your neighbors dog got messed up, and just so happens its at the same time your dog is loose and in their yard, and they are just lucky enough to say, lets blame fido there? that seems like a mighty far stretch..maybe they had the dog on ice waiting for some opportunity to pass the vet bill on? come on man.

What probably happened is dudes dog had surgery your dog got loose popped a few holes in the other dog and owner of said dog turned a bad situation into a good situation for himself and now your gonna cover the dogs medical bill , all I know if someone dog got loose got ahold of one of my dogs ID make em pick up the bill too and sad part you can't prove he is a liar but he can prove your dog got loose
