AGK i was talking to ole Ben . I've seen a 14 month old and he did it in over 2:30 and showed GIS . But I still think if he would have waited he would still have him today .

Well in this case I will compare dogs to humans..... Some dogs mature faster than others same as humans. Would I take a 14 month old out.... Probably not, but if the dog showed me otherwise I'd sure think about it.

good point but very rare do they show worthy at tat age and prove it,,, Rascal for instance...

I knew a kid that could slam dunk a basketball before he was thirteen,,,
he could also do backwards cartwheels the whole length of the football field and end in a double back flip...
an athlethe and very mature for a young man in every sense with out a doubt,,,
but I dont think he had the mindset he had as he matured either...

shoot,,, kat williams got chocked out by a fourteen year old,,,
but than again he acts like a kid and isnt much taller than one either,,, lol...

Cajun your thinking to much lol . They can do it yes but it's stupid to do . Only people that can't wait will do it . At 2 1/2 -3 he's a man not a kid . Would to really want to take a kid to a knife fight with you ? Bad idea . Yes he can do good but the mind will fade fast . To me 2 years old and they are still a pup but 1 you can start to look good at .

It also depends if you can train/handle a dog or not. Dogs can be trained not to chew up the forniture and sometimes more excersize is all they need.

My bastard eats rocks, acorns and even Dry leaves. No he does not have worms.
He just has an Oral fixation. Yes he does act like a Big Shot , but it takes the wisdom
of the handler to recognize that he /she is immature ( not ready) It's just my personality..
but I like to "sit' on a dog. If you had to go into a dark alley in Jersey City..would you
want to go with a 17 year old or a 25 year old?? For real, think about it.

I will go on a limb and say no one has seen a worthy ofrn,,,
old timers havnt and its only getting more rare,,, so rare pretty soon they will be pink,,,haha....

  12. Yes, there have been dogs that could get the job done at 14 months old, but still would it have hurt to wait, no! Would that 14 month old ace been even better in another 6 months or so, yes! I think with a lot of lines 14 months is too young to go to school. I just do see the rush.

Heinzls reasoning for culling dogs by ayear and half of age is that he could raise twice as many in the same time it took to raise dogs to three years of age...

So the dogs that made through this culling process had to be early starters and great dogs...

Heinzl matured himself and learned to let them mature and his percentage increases greatly...

Different standards result in different percentages indeed...

I know why you hate, but I also know you aren't stupid. A better question is where would this breed be without the OFRN?

They can be good pets as most all APBTS can be OFRN or any other line. Just remember what you have and don't be stupid.
