I agree with Bama and Slim. I would cut her down a lil more. If you can weigh her that would help a bunch. Like what has been said. Those extra lbs cover up muscle. Cut her weight to show more definition. Dragging more weight and adding more work are unnessecary for a conformation show. A lil less food goes a long way

  4. I'm a body builder and nutritionist. For humans obviously but now into apbt breeding and working with my pups / older dogs I'm applying my knowledge with canine's now. My current pup is 6 months 62lbs and I'll have her backpacking some weight soon. Her mother is a large 85lb apbt so genetics do play a small role.

If you'd like PM me and we can discuss. Personally I don't agree with the warnings don't build muscle only for show.. A little extra muscle mass is will keep them healthier in the long run in my opinion, granted you don't over do it. However, I do agree with the forget supplementation comments.. There's no need for a healthy 18 month pup to require supplementation they can't get from whole foods.

Are you sure you have an apbt?

I think that's a good looking bulldog. I think a little more definition is good, but not mass. The type of coat she has makes definition to see a tad more difficult I think. Verses a black dog, buckskin or something. But I think she or he looks great.

Weigh her. Little less food. Weigh the food if you want. Keep workin. Supplement. Then genetics will take the rest.
Just make sure she on a schedule. Log it in a journal if you want. Feed raw if you can. If not supplement kibble with some eggs or yogurt. Coconut oil. Apple cider vinegar. Nupro is decent.

***supplement in my post meaning to supplement the food. Not something that the dog doesnt naturally produce. However you could always start poppin them bully max pills lmao.

*she was 85lb at her prime. father was 98lb. brother is currently larger than the father and yes they are 100% APBT. thank you for verifying our dogs are top notch. ;) the pedigree is in gator forum i'm actively posting in.

Mixing up the work out a little will also help build muscle buy working different angles. If your dog likes to pull during a walk, buy a working harness, and let the dog pull you. This will build the stifle muscles in the rear legs of the dog. Start slowly and build up the time. This is similar to having the dog drag chains or weights. Also keep an eye on the dogs pads. Check them before, and after working the dog.One more thing, your dog is still young and growing, I would not push the dog very hard...slow and steady.
