i agree: i think a lot of people get bent on the terminology. no doubt you can house a dog that works/performs for you. housing it makes it a companion, hence a "pet". but that "pet" can also perform certain tasks for you, hence be labled a worker. agreed: semantics. and no doubt every dog is different
so long as you know how to responsibly handle/manage your "pet", "performer", or whatever name you choose to label your dog (s), that's what matters most.

Years ago I owned a pup off St. Benedict's Crock. I'm not saying she ran in the fast lane but she would make short work of any of the neighborhood mutts. The best part about it was she was my house dog. Actually with all the conditioning involved having her in the house was a breeze. Was this dog my pet? Absolutely

    To the OP.

Be prepared to replace items that gets chewed up or destroyed in your home.

Don't blame the dog when that happens.

The best house dogs ive seen come off the yard mature and ready to train.A great method of monkey see monkey do
as the yard dogs watch the older house dogs come out to empty and usualy are potty trained.Older house dog prospects seem to learn faster because they have those teenage anks worked out.Im not into the time and patientce
it takes to raise most pups in the house, a full time job or a cooped up puppy. The grass is always greener inside.lol.

dogs are dogs if u have had a dog piss somewhere in your house one of your other dogs will find it and mark it..you know where the spot is are spots and when u catch em in the act that's the best way to break em...and u don't have to beat em I just raise my voice. When they start sniffing around I know what's up...as Elias said these are mature dogs off the chain and they are easier to deal with IMO as far as using the bathroom....chewing that's a whole diff ball game..Some dogs are just not good house dogs.

I got my puppy from some dirtbag in a bad part of town. 7 mo. old. I've had her for 2 weeks. She doesn't chew anything while I'm gone. She gets along with dogs, cats, and everything else. Game-bred, I would assume not. lol. The hardest part is keeping her off of my lap.

Personally it would be hard to own another breed. Don't get me wrong you must be a RESPONSIBLE OWNER because they do require attention, work, and dedication. It's simple you get out what you put in with this breed and any other for that matter. I would say do your research and remember it's an APBT. As far as the house and kids go I always started with pups and always allowed my family to manage the pups under supervision. As they grow together and you train and teach them you will grow to love that pit... A loaded gun they can be but it's really going to depend on the individual dog themselves (some are stubborn some are not).
